*About A Week Later*
Taylor's POV
"Hey mom?" I asked as I wandered into the kitchen.
"Yeah?" She replied.
"Where's Ed?" I grabbed a glass and poured myself some water.
"Um...I think he told me he was running back home to grab something of his or something, I don't know. Can you not find him?" She asked as she wandered over to me, leaning on the counter.
"Yeah. I'll call him, see what he's up to." I said, and she nodded.
"If you don't mind me asking, why is that you want to find him?" She asked with interest, and I shrugged, a smile across my face.
"I don't know. I was thinking maybe we could do something today, it's kinda gotten boring just sitting around the house all day." I explained, and she nodded.
I ran back upstairs and got my phone off the dresser, before dialing his number. I flopped down onto the bed and stared at the ceiling.
It rang, and it rang, and it rang. Finally, his little voice mail thing played, saying to leave a message after the beep, because he can't get to his phone right now. BEEP!
"Hey Ed! It's Taylor, and I was just wondering where you were. I was wondering if maybe you and I could go out and do something today? I don't know, but, um....call me back, okay? Thanks! Bye." I hung up, and dropped my phone onto the bed as my eyebrows creased.
Why wouldn't he answer his phone? I know he has it with him, and he's never not answered when I've called. And if he was just going over to our house, why wouldn't he want to answer? I could understand if he was at a doctor's appointment, so he couldn't answer if because they don't allow phones in the clinics, or someplace loud where he wouldn't hear his phone go off, but just at an empty house? Now I'm worried.
I grabbed my phone off the bed and ran back downstairs. "Mom!" I called out, and found her sitting in the living room, reading a magazine.
"Yeah? What's up with Ed?" She asked.
"That's just the thing. I called and he didn't answer, and I don't know why. I'm...I'm worried." I told her, and she nodded, setting her magazine down on the coffee table.
"Well, maybe you should try calling him again, maybe he was in the bathroom and didn't hear it go off or something." She suggested, and I nodded. That was probably it.
At least I hoped.
I called him again, but like before, it rang and rang and rang, and then his voice mail message. BEEP!
"Ed! Are you alright? Is something wrong? I don't know where you are or anything, I'm really worried. Please call me back!" I left a message, before hanging up.
I turned back to my mom. "I'm worried about him, I don't know what's going on. Is there something we could do?" I bit my lip.
"Well, we could drive over to your house, if you really want to. Or you could, if you remember where it is. It might be weird if I'm there too." She offered, and I nodded.
"I have a general idea of where it is, could you maybe type the address into Google Maps on my phone or something? O definitely need to go and see him." I asked, and she nodded. I gave her my phone and she quickly typed it in, all from memory.
This was frustrating, because it was a reminder that I didn't know where my own house was. I needed directions because I couldn't get there by myself, I had to have somebody help me. Before all this happened, I probably would've been able to get there from anywhere, but now I have to ask my mom for directions.
