I was left dumb founded. I couldn't even say a word.

I thought it was all over. Why did it start up all of a sudden.

"Carla what happened. " I heard Jayden's voice bring me back to reality.

"my... My mum just called... My brother Donny had another seizure. " I said trying to stop the tears from rolling down.

I didn't know why it hurt so much this time.

Donny always had seizures but this was the first time I wasn't with him when it happened.

He was only ten years old and he has already been through so much.

He started having seizures when he was 6.

Doctors say it will stop eventually if we take good care of him.

"what hospital." Jayden said bringing me out of my thoughts.

"St Louis." I said with a shaky voice.

"alright then I'll take you. " he said extending his hand.

I took he's hand and he led me over to he's motorcycle.

"hop on. " he gestured while getting on

"umm.... I'm not getting on that death machine. "I said while he chuckled.

"listen you need to get to the hospital right. " he said and I gave him a light nod.

"I know you're scared but you can trust me. And you can hold on to me if you feel scared." he said handing over he's helmet.

"ain't you gonna wear one. "I said pointing at the helmet.

"I only have one. I don't usually give people rides. "he said while starting the bike.

It was my first time on a motorcycle.

I never thought it would be on my way to the hospital.

Or with the brat.

I wanted to put on a brave face but the moment we started moving I quickly held on to him.

He used one hand to point at he's torso.

I quickly got the hint and removed my hands from he's shoulders.

I held on to he's torso and as we started moving faster I buried my face in he's back.

I could hear him chuckle but I didn't pay him any attention.

I felt like the ride was going on forever. Like it would never end.

I guess secretly I didn't want it to end.

And as if the devil heard my thought.
We arrived at the hospital.

I quickly got down and handed over the helmet. "thanks for the ride. "I told him while brushing my hair out of my face.

"Anytime. You want me to come with? "he asked looking at me with caring eyes.

I just gave him a slight nod.

We went in together and I asked a nurse for Donny's room number.

We made our way to he's room.

There my mum was sitting on a chair next to Donny with her laptop.

I guess she was working.

She was always working. I got a little bit angry seeing as all she cared about was her work.

"mum, could you stop working for a bit. Donny's in the hospital for fuck's shake" I said in a fit of rage.

"watch your tone young lady.  It so happens that if I don't work.

Your brother won't get the best treatment ." she said countering my words.

I rolled my eyes and went over to Donny's bed.

I caressed his head and gave him a hug.

I loved Donny more than anything else he reminds me of my dad.

In the way he talks walks just everything about him was similar to my dad.

I felt bad for Donny he didn't get to spend as much time as I did with dad.

"when can he go home. " I asked my mum.

"once he wakes up. "she said.

Just then I remembered Jayden. He was still standing at the door.

"mum this is Jayden. My friend and our new neighbor. "I told her gesturing Jayden to come over.

"hello Mrs Simpson Im Carla's friend I gave her a ride here. I'll be leaving now. " he said in a strangely polite manner.

I've never seen him be so polite not even to teachers.

"okay then Jayden nice meeting you. " my mum replied to him.

He quietly left the room.

"I don't like that boy. He looks like trouble." my mum said still typing away on her laptop.

"mum they're new in town. Maybe we just need to get to know him and he's dad. " I told her in he's defense.

"don't say I didn't warn you " my said while getting up and making her way to the door.

I just kept playing with Donny's hair.
