17. Broken People with Broken Feelings

Klaus' POV

"But Sam... let me explain." Samantha turned on her heels and left the study running and crying. What the bloody hell have I done?! I can't believe myself... I don't know what happened to me. I ran after her hoping that she wouldn't hate me. "Sam?" I yelled. When I reached the main door I saw Elijah looking at me with a pissed off expression across his face. There it goes a boring speech.

"What have you done brother?" Elijah asked me. What am I suppose to say? 'I accidentely kissed Jade and Samatha saw?'

"He made out with me." Jade came smiling from the study entrance. I swear I'll wip that dum smile of her face right after I rip out her heart.

"Shut up!" I yelled at her. She simply smiled. I'm done! I lost it. I vamped towards her and shocked her pinning her to the wall.

"I like it more when it was with your sexy lips." She told me struggling for air.

"Niklaus." Elijah said. I knew instantly that was the cue to let her go. I dropped her and took my hand off of her throat. I looked at Elijah. "What have you done?" He asked again. I could only deviate my eyes from his with shame. I don't even know what I did. I just... did. I'm so stupid! "I'm gonna make sure Samantha is okay. You should think of a very good explanation to give her when we come back. This was your chance to finally be happy and you just throw it away." Elijah turned around and left through the main door.

"What happened?" Rebekah asked coming from upstairs.

"Our plan worked." Jade said. I turned my head quickly to look at them and saw Rebekah give Jade a killer look.

"That wasn't suppose to be said." Rebekah whispered but I could still her.

"You had something to do with this?" I asked coming closer to Rebekah. Her eyes quickly turned with fear. "How could you do this?!" I yelled at her which made her look away from me.

"She doesn't deserve you Nik." She said slowly, but then started to rise her tone. "And besides you kind of always did the same thing to me. Payback time."

"Payback?" I asked incredulously. "Payback?!" I now yelled and she flinched in fear. "You know how hard I've been trying for this family to finally be happy? You know how much pain all of it has caused me?" She shook her head no.

"You never cared for us Nik. You only care about yourself." She said not looking into my eyes.

"Believe whatever you want. Just don't ruin my happyness." I told her and walked away up the stairs.

"What about me?" Jade asked and I stopped climbing the stairs and turned around.

"Leave." I told her and started walking up the stairs again. I can't believe my family did this. I know I'm a monster towards everyone. But I deserve to be happy. I want to be happy!

Elijah's POV

I can't believe he actually did this. Samantha is our family's hope. My hope. She's lovely. And Niklaus really liked her. I've never seen him like this. Happy. I need to find her. Her smells guides me towards a near forest. I started to walk in and as further I walked more clearly I could hear the painful sobbing.

I came to find a Samantha down near by a big tree with her legs up to her chest. She's a wreck. Niklaus shouldn't have done this. I walked towards her and slowly sat beside her.

"I know you are hurt..." I got interrupted.

"Don't apologize for your brother's do." She said sobbing. "He doesn't deserve you saved his ass this time."

"I'm not. He acted wrongly. I want to support you in any way I can." She looked at me for the first time. Her eyes were red from crying and so was her face. Tears still came freely to her eyes and she didn't tried to stop it. She knew she was hurt and so did I. But she made sure that I could see how broken she was. I opened my arms and she just crashed into my chest letting her tears fall into my shirt. I patted her back with either of my hands.

"Do you think he loves Jade?" She asked with her head still buried in my chest.

"No. He loves you. But we usually hurt the people we love the most. It is born with us and it dies with us. Any effort not the hurt your loved ones is going to fail. You should know that. Perhaps that's what's going on with Niklaus and Elena." I told trying to comfort her. Believe me I've learned it the hard way. She didn't replied. "He's probably hurting too, you know?" She nodded. Something about seeing her like this makes me feel awful. What's wrong with me? Perhaps is duo the fact that I see myself in her?

"You're a good man Elijah but that does not give you any duty to fix his mistakes. To fix me." She told me deviating from me. I looked at her face that was indeed still red of crying and her eyes were all puffy. But she still looked beautiful.

"I can't fix something that isn't broken." I told her giving her a sympathetic look.

"Elijah... I'm broken... Don't you see it? I argued with my sister before coming here. Here when my hopes were all high and I believed that I was finally going to be happy he did this. Not to mention my failure of a relationships since I can remember. I was always awful with people. Never could get along." I smiled.

"That's why you a get along with me. In one hand I'm not a person, I'm a monster. In the other I was never good with relationships either." She gave me a weak smile. But at least I got one out.

"Thank you." She told me so low I couldn't almost hear even with my vampire hearing.

"For what?" I asked. She loocked up at me.

"Just for being here." She told me and got up. I got up quickly to support her because she was little dizzy of crying. "Can you take me somewhere warm?" She asked looking at me. I nodded.

"Home?" I asked. She shook her head no. "Okay, don't worry I know of a little shack near here." She nodded and we walked side by side my arm around her shoulders for support. This is going to be a very large afternoon. She won't go home and see Niklaus. I think they should talk. Maybe I just need to make her feel better and make her want to sort things out. Maybe then she'd want to see him again.
