Richard Bowen
I fix my apron and continue to look at all of the flowers, making sure all are hydrated and what not. Y'know, it's really relaxing working at a flower shop. I get to listen to music while the shop owner just goes out and plants all of her flowers.

It's just me working at all times. People go in and out to pick out whatever flowers they like or I'm sending out flower deliveries and watching Athena. Athena mostly just sits in my bosses office and plays on her tablet. My boss adores her so obviously she doesn't mind.

Athena's 4 now so after school, Nini picks her up and drops her off at the flower shop then goes to class or work every other day. Then we switch and I pick Athena up and drop her off at the coffee shop with Nini. It depends on the day and today is well..Tuesday so Nini should be coming in with Athena soon.

Life in San Diego is just the way I want it.

"Richard." I hear a voice call. I take out an ear bud and turn around to see Rosalina, my boss, with a grin on her face and keys in her hands.

"Oh, hey. What's up?" I ask, taking a small towel out of the pocket of my apron.

"Just heading out. I won't be back till 7, think you can hold down the fort until then?"

"As I always. Have fun on your date."

"Well...if you insist on calling it that." She laughs, causing me to do the same. "Alright, see you soon."

"Of course. Bye Rosa."

"Bye bye."

I turn back around but keep my ear bud out. I wipe my hands on the towel before putting it back in my pocket.

Nini and I are seniors at San Diego University and are going to graduate soon. We don't stay in a dorm because...well we have a daughter so we managed to afford a pretty big New York like apartment. The brick walls and the view just made it feel so much like home.

We try to make our schedules work and I'm just so happy that Nini was able to put up with me and my worries. I'm just trying to make sure Athena is happy and safe none the less.

"Dad.." I hear a voice call. I turn around and see Athena standing with a coffee cup in her hand.

"Oh. Thena!" I grin. I look around but Nini wasn't in sight. I pick the little figure up. "Where's mom?"

"We played a game," she hands me the cup, "it's called run."

"Run? What do you mean by ru-"

"She means run and make mom's life harder." I see Nini standing at the door, using her barista cap as a fan. I smirk and take a sip of the coffee.

"Mm. I see I see." I put Athena down and go over to Nini, taking her in my arms. "Thank you for the coffee baby."

"Whatever." She hits my chest and I pull back and put a hand on the spot she hit me as if I was actually hurt.
