Ricky Bowen "So..what we can do babe is go to maybe...a Dave & Busters tomorrow." I say, sitting down on the couch. She sighs and joins me, pulling herself into my body.
"Oh yeah? Why so?" We had just finished dinner and managed to get online school done with.
"Past couple of weeks have been a little boring, no? We can have some fun with Athena for the night."
"Mm. Yeah I think we can make time for that. What time you get off tomorrow?" She asks, fidgeting with her hands.
"Erm," I slightly squint, "I think like 5? It's much earlier because I got Peyton to help me now. What about you?"
"I'm not sure but..I think I can get out early? I don't think Paul will mind."
"So 6?"
"6 will do. Do you wanna Tell Athena or-"
"Surprise?" I grin.
"Okay, okay." She rolls her eyes. "It'll be a surprise."
"Yay.." I drag, causing her to slightly laugh. "Oh, you know we have the parade right?"
"The what?"
"The Patrick's day parade for Athena? She wasn't us to be there you know?"
"Wait What?! What day is it?"
I raise a brow and slightly scoff. "B..baby it's on Saint Patrick's day.."
"Shit. Right, uhm.." she takes her phone out of her pocket and goes onto her calendar. "I think I might have..umm..shit. I have a board meeting."
"You can't skip this one? I don't think Athena will happy having just..one parent there."
"This one is for how the entire building goes for. I don't think I can love." She puts a hand on her forehead. "She's gonna be mad at me."
"You really can't skip this one?"
"Mm..I don't think so." She takes a deep breath and leans into my body. "I'll tell her in the morning I guess."
"I'm mad too, I'm gonna admit." I say, rubbing the back of my neck. "I don't want Athena to not see her mommy there."
"I wish I could Ricky, I'm sorry." She cranks her head up so we can make eye contact.
