Nini Roberts
"She's playing.." I say, making sure he knows that I'm upset. I put my phone down on the table where lays a half eaten slider from Athena, an empty salad tray from me, and a full plate of chicken tenders that just happen to be Ricky's favorite.

"Alone?" Ricky questions quietly, looking at the table with guilty eyes.

"No. Nick is with her." I decided to invite him along. I mean after all, this bastard didn't show up.

His eyebrows crease but he manages to keep his voice calm saying such an inflammatory sentence. "Who the fuck is Nick and why is he with my daughter?"

And yet, that's what sets me off.

"That's funny," I force an annoyed chuckle, "I wait here for what? An hour and 40 minutes for you, with no reply from you whether it be call, text, or FaceTime, and yet you question the authority I have looking over our daughter?"

He scoffs but sits down next to me. "I am sorry. I got held up at work and I was with Peyton then I had to ask Peyton if she could take care of Oscar for a little bit and it was a lot but who is Nick? Can you blame me for wanting to know?"

"Ricky, I don't care just how busy you were with..Peyton and what not. One text, why are you acting as if you were so busy to the point where you couldn't answer one bloody text?"

The pure rubbish coming out of his mouth was something else. The guy gets mad at me for the night, the next night, I'm the one angered out of my mind but at least with a valid fucking reason.

"Come on," I rub my temple as I snort, "what the fuck is the matter with you? It-..just what!?"

"I'm sorry. I am, Nini. I'll make it up somehow, but I'm not comfortable with you having our daughter with some random guy I personally don't know."

Can he just listen for once!?

"I know him. I trust him. She is fine, but right now, I'm pissed. I'm pissed Bowen, and I am getting sick of you not showing up when I need you. You made this plan no?!"

"Yeah b-"

"And I am the one that drove our daughter here who was expecting to see her father the moment she saw this place so she can know that her father wanted this for her. And I don't care if it's just a little game night, its special. You said it was special. The way you thought about it was special."

His face fades and he just stares at me with a blank expression as I just continue on.

"Richard, I know your probably thinking that I'm over reacting because that's just your fucking mindset, but how would you feel? How would you feel if I made plans for our daughter and then show up an hour and 40 minutes late? She's upset, she thinks you don't want to be here! I fucking called a friend to take her around and show her how to fake drive a car with a screen."
