Chapter Twenty - Mattia's Truth

Alejandro POV

I walked into Sevanah's room where they all had worried expressions on their faces. I didn't know what was happening. "Sevanah can we talk please?" She just got up and we went outside to talk.

"What?" She said rudely. Wow, she was in a mood.
"I asked Chelsea to go to the formal dinner with me as a friend," I said. She didn't seem too happy about it. "Why are you mad?" I asked.
"She's my best friend, I know she likes you and I'm concerned that you guys will start dating, something will happen between the two of you and nothing will be the same. I already witnessed you guys kissing at the party and I don't want to get used to my idiotic brother kissing my best friend in front of me." I was shocked by what she told me. Does Chelsea really like me? I couldn't help but smile. Sevanah just stood there studying my face.

"What?" I said.

"You're smiling." She paused. She playfully hit my shoulder "you like Chelsea." I just nodded. I liked her for a very long time it's been over a year but Sevanah doesn't know that and she doesn't even know what happened right before Chelsea left. "I understand why you like Chelsea, she's pretty and amazing but I'm not going to approve you guys together and she's my best friend and I kinda want you to back away but I will allow you guys to go to the formal dinner together." She said.
I understand where Sevanah is coming from, I just don't want to wait anymore, I just want to take her on a date. "Can I take her on one date?" I asked she was taken back by the question. 

"No, I will not allow it." She said and walked into the house but slamming the door indicating she was mad. I just stood outside, I can't believe I asked my sister for her blessings. I should be able to date who I want and when I want. 

Chelsea POV

I was sitting in Sevanah's room with hangover Kairi and Mattia. Mattia's phone kept going off and by the end of it he switched it off. He didn't seem like himself and he wasn't as talkative. 

"Mattia are you okay?" He then broke down crying. I felt like I should talk to him alone to see if I can fix any of his problems. 

"Kairi can you pour us some orange juice?" I asked and he nodded and we into the kitchen. 

I got off of Sevanah's bed and went and sat on the floor next to Mattia. I could hear how broken he was when he started talking. 

"I'm sorry, I should have told you." He was crying so hard he started struggling to breathe. I just rubbed his back and waited for him to continue. "He has been messaging and he said he was out to get my family because I'm near you and I wasn't answering your voice mails because he threatened me. His exact words were, stay away from her or you and your family will be dead. I don't know what he is capable of doing but I don't want to find out" I was lost for words. 

"The time I saw you getting beaten by him." He said slowly not looking at me.

"Wait you saw me getting beaten?" Everything makes sense, I remember this was the time that he said he knows that I will cheat on him with Alejandro. He punched me in the leg and stared outside the window. Now it all makes sense. Mattia was there to wish me a safe a trip and he managed to witnessed the worst day of my life. I feel for him and while I was sobbing on the bed, Valentino was threatening Mattia and his family so Mattia swore not to tell anyone. 

I snapped out of my thoughts when Sevanah and Kairi opened the door to give us our orange juices I quickly wiped a tear that escaped my eye. They stopped in their tracks when witnessing Mattia and I crying. "Please give us a moment," I said and they simply nodded. Sevanah didn't look at me, I knew she was mad and that means the talk didn't go well. I need to talk to her after I finish talking to Mattia. 

"He threatened you and you saw me getting beaten but you didn't say anything?" My heart ached in pain and my blood also boiled because he didn't say anything. 

"I'm sorry, I didn't want to risk my family getting hurt and now he won't stop messaging me, he knows you're back in New Jersey and he is out to get you." I couldn't believe it, Valentino is out to get me and I don't know what to do.
