Chapter Thirty One - Heartbreaking News

Chelsea POV

I couldn't wait to go home I was so exhausted. I couldn't help but smile thinking about this night, his lips were so soft and it makes me want to kiss him again. He was so gentle and it's going to be something I will never forget. Once in my life, I felt like I nearly had everything I wanted and I actually felt happy.

"I had fun tonight," I said while grabbing his hand.

"Me too, can't wait to do it again." I smiled but the smile slowly faded when I saw a police car in front of the house. My hands became sweaty as I just thought something happened with Valentino. I got out of the car quickly and ran inside. For some reason, I didn't feel safe any longer. I walked into the living room with Alejandro by my side.

"Chelsea hunny take a seat," Stephanie said while pointing to a seat across from the two police officers. "These officers will like to talk to you." My heart began to start racing. 

"We are sorry to inform you that your mother passed away." The officer said.  Alejandro came by my side and grabbed my hand and kissed it reassuring me everything was okay. Stephanies looked shocked. Alejandro was never the affectionate type unless he was dating them. I looked at my hand and then back at Stephanie and she gave me a reassuring smile.

"How did she die?" I said softly while swallowing the lump that was forming at the back of my throat.

"We're doing a biopsy we will be getting results later this week."

"Can I see her?" I asked

"Yes, after we get the results, any other questions?" The police officer said.

"How did you find her?"

"A neighbour called saying they heard your mother screaming for help so they immediately called 911 and we found her. The explained the situation about the domestic violence a month ago so we went to check it out. At this stage the death is being treated as not suspicious." I just started crying, I couldn't believe my ears. My mother is now dead. I got a hug from Stephanie and Alejandro. The officers walked out after telling me the news one of them even shared a tear. I felt like I have lost something important to me that I didn't even know was.  All I wished was I could give her one last hug.
