A/N- HELLO!!!! IM BACK!!! it's been like a year oh my. im sorry i haven't wrote anymore, im surprised that this still gets reads. anyways, im gonna hopefully try to start writing again, although i don't know how active ill be but ill try. comment ideas for future fics!

story summary- bucky is sad that steve is gone for missions.

the bad thing about being captain americas boyfriend is that the red white and blue icon is constantly away on top secret missions, and so bucky barnes is left at home, pining for his boyfriend.

bucky laid in bed, staring at the ceiling. steve had been gone for a few days. they didn't know how long this mission would be, a week was the estimate. even worse was bucky didn't even know what the mission was. all he knew was that his boy was out there, risking his life for the world.

its selfish, but sometimes bucky really hates the world. he hated how steve was so heroic. steve was his boyfriend, not the worlds. steve should be at home, protecting him, cuddling him, kissing him, making him breakfast, but nope. his blonde boyfriend was always on dangerous missions.

buckys mind wandered to the day steve left for his latest mission. the two were cuddling on the couch, catching up on The Walking Dead and eating nachos. then, steve got the dreaded call.

he paused the show and grabbed his phone to answer. all bucky could hear from the phone was muffled talk, but he knew it was going to be another mission.

the call ended, and steve turned to bucky with a sad expression. "buck i-" he started

"jesus not again!" bucky groaned, getting up from his seat. "you're always on your missions."

"i know baby, i know," steve sighed. "but you know i have to."

"yeah.. i know, i know. it's just not fair" bucky said sadly.

steve looked down, then back at his boyfriend. "come here," he said, opening his arms.

bucky walked over to steve, dragging his feet. he fell into the blondes arms and cuddled into his shoulder. "i don't want you to go stevie"

"i don't want to go either buck" steve replied, carefully stroking the other man's back.

bucky didn't say anything, just sniffled softly and snuggled closer.

"when i get back ill take you out for icecream," said steve. "we'll go to the park and feed the birds, and walk around the city. then we can go to your favorite restaurant for dinner. does that sound good?"

bucky nodded into steves shoulder. "when do you leave?" he mumbled.

"in a few hours..."

"noooo.." bucky whined. he looked up at steve and frowned.

"i love you buck." said Steve.

"i love you too."

that was days ago. now steve was gone, and bucky was left alone in their apartment.

bucky rolled over on the bed, and grabbed steves pillow. it still smelled like him.

the brunet clinged to the pillow, burying his face in it cotton material. he focused on that scent, trying to pretend that he was holding steve, and not an inanimate object.

"i miss you steve." whispered bucky, trying to hold back tears.

"i miss you too bucky." said a voice.

bucky shot up, looking around. there in the doorway stood a tired but grinning steve rogers.

"steve!" bucky shouted with joy. "you're home!" he got off the bed and ran straight into the blondes awaiting arms.

"i love you so so so so so much steve. im never letting you go again." bucky whimpered.

"i love you too baby" said steve, squeezing him tightly.

bucky started to cry. at this point, there was no holding back his tears.

hearing the brunets soft cries, steve cupped his face and frowned. "please don't cry baby." he said, wiping away his boyfriends tears.

"im sorry, i just love and miss you so much." bucky sniffled.

"i know, but im here now." steve said, gently kissing his boyfriend.

bucky nodded and gathered himself, blinking back any remaining tears.

"i love you." said the brunet, returning the kiss.

"i love you too." smiled steve, kissing him yet again.

"sooo... where's my icecream?" asked bucky with a giggle.

steve smirked, "you remembered."

"who forgets ice cream?"

steve laughed, and put an arm around buckys shoulder, leading him out "right this way.."
