Chapter 8: The Massive Attack

       I was at Rafiki's tree having a checkup on my wounds and seeing if I can go on duty again, "now young cheetah y-" Rafiki was interrupted by Simba rushing in out of breath. "Rafiki we need your help" Simba said frantically, "what is it my friend?" Rafiki said picking up his stick and walking over to Simba. "It's Kion. He's badly injured and needs your help" Simba showed Rafiki Kion and I stole a glimpse and what I saw made my insiders turn. Kion has cuts and bruises on basically most of his body, "quick bring him here" Rafiki said and Simba followed him to a bed made of leaves.

       Simba gently slid Kion off his back and onto the bed, "I will be back with the right herbs" Rafiki said and hurried out the tree. I watched him leave before going over to look at Kion sitting beside Simba, "is he gonna be alright?" I asked not looking at Simba. Simba didn't respond, after a few moments of silence I looked at Simba and saw his head dipped and his mane almost covering his eyes and his mouth partly open. I put a paw on his shoulder and that's when Simba he finally spoke, "I should have never let him go with his memory gone." "Simba you could have never predicted this" I said and he whipped his head at me in disbelief. "Yes I could have and with him not remembering much he could have died out there because he doesn't remember how dangerous it can be. There was and always will be danger no matter where you go" Simba said and I lowered my ears.

       "I'm Sorry Fuli it's just that with Kion like this it just bring back past memories" Simba said. "Were here what happened?" Nala said entering with Kiara, "Kion went on patrol and apparently got attacked" Simba said looking at them and Nala came up to Simba and nuzzled him. "How are you?" Kiara whispered from behind me, "I'm doing on. Your dad is beating himself up because he thinks it's his fault" I said. "Wow. Sounds like when Kopa died and when his dad died" Kiara said, "wait what?" I said with a raised eyebrow. "Who is Kopa?" "Well he was the first born of our family but died to Zira" Kiara said and I felt more sympathy for Simba.

       "Well enough about that. How was your date with Kion" Kiara said with a smirk, I got wide eyed and covered her mouth and we went to the other side of the tree out of earshot. "How did you know?" I asked Kiara letting go of her mouth, "I am his sister and I may have eavesdropped on you guys" Kiara said with a smile. "Do you think he feels the same?" I asked Kiara, "my god he wouldn't shut up about you when it's just me and you. He's always saying 'have you noticed how stunning Fuli looked today?' or 'Fuli is so pretty I wonder if she likes me?'" Kiara said trying to mimic Kions voiced who did it terribly. We both laughed but as I was laughing I was blushing, is what Kiara said true? I said to myself.

      "Rafiki is back" Rafiki said entering with a turtle shell full of some type of herbs, he set the shell down and broke a gord in half and put half of it in the shell. He then ripped the herbs apart and started to stir but also added a few white peddles until it turned yellow. He grabbed a few leaves and put the liquid in the leaves and put the leaves on the wound. "He should heal in a weak or so" Rafiki said to the King and Queen. "Simba! Nala!" Zazu said landing in front of them, "what is it?" Simba said getting on all fours. "The Pridelands are under attack!" Zazu said, "Fuli you stay here with Kion. Kiara Nala lets go" Simba said and they left.

       I just sat in the tree with an unconscious Kion and a Rafiki who is painting pictures, "you know you can leave young cheetah" Rafiki said not looking at her. "I think I'm gonna stay and look after Kion. Like he did for me" I smiled and laid next to Kion and tried to get close to him without hurting him. "As you wish" Rafiki said and smiled, Kion must have felt my presence because he wrapped his muscular arm around me. I smiled and he whispered, "thank you Fuli for being there for me..." I smiled and whispered back. "Anything for you Kion" I said and he smiled, I silently purred and Kion entwined our tails which made me smile more and blush a little.
