Chapter Six: Bad Romance

Zero smiled and scratched Gadgets ear, "Very well then, from now there is no turning back" he looked at the wolf. "Now, how about a day just to us?" he offered. Gadget chuckled, "I'd like that" he cupped Zero's cheek.

The jackal blushed but nuzzled Gadgets hand that lay on his cheek, he emitted his own deep purr causing Gadget to chuckle and press himself against the larger body, "You're just a big cat that needs love and care" Gadget teased and smirked widely. Zero rolled his eyes, "I am only soft around you" he smiled.

Gadgets eyes lit up and he beamed a joyous smile, "You big softy" he chuckled and hugged the jackal. Zero laughed and rubbed Gadgets ear, "Let's get some breakfast" he suggested. Gadget nodded and got up from the bed, he stretched and put on his glasses, he left his gloves, shoes and chest piece off as he was very certain he wasn't leaving Zeros base today, to his relief. Zero followed and walked to his kitchen, he then started to bring out ingredients for some pancakes.

Gadget looked at the ingredients then to the jackal cooking, he hummed and pushed his glasses up his muzzle, "From what I can see you are making pancakes" he hummed and watched the jackal. Zero chuckled as he mixed the batter, "If it weren't obvious already by the ingredients" he smirked playfully and splattered some of the batter onto the wolf deliberately, causing Gadget to gasp loudly as the batter dripped over his head and down his muzzle.

"Zero!!" Gadget shouted and laughed, he took some of the batter that lay on his head and threw some at the jackal. Zero gasped in return and stopped mixing, he turned to the wolf, "You're gonna regret that" he chased after the fleeing wolf. Gadget yelped and ran around the base, trying to find somewhere to hide but failed when he tripped over his own foot and landed on the ground with a thud, "Oww..." he groaned. Zero easily caught up to him and crouched beside him, "You okay?" he asked and turned Gadget onto his back so he layed on that and not his face - which was still covered in batter.

"I'm fine" Gadget chuckled and got some batter and mushed it into the jackals face, "Got'cha!" the sly wolf ran off again. Zero gasped and chuckled, he cleared some batter off his face so he could see properly and kept it in his hand so he could get revenge. "Gadget!" he shouted and ran after him, only to slip on the batter that was on the ground from the two running around, causing the jackal to land on his backside, "Shit!" he yelped and rubbed his ass.

Gadget walked up to him, "Wow, Zero, are you okay?" he chuckled and helped him up. Zero nodded, "Yes, but my ass isn't, I don't have a soft carpet floor so that was a harsh landing" he chuckled and smirked. Gadget chuckled too, "It'll get better, eventually" he smirked and walked to the bathroom door, "I'm going to shower"

Zero walked up to the batter covered wolf, "Mind if I join then?" he whispered and held Gadgets wrist. Gadget blushed but nodded, "Yeah, sure" he walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower that was there. The bathroom was standard size; holding a shower, bath tub, toilet, sink and complete with a mirror over the sink.

Taking off his glasses, Gadget glanced at the jackal before stepping into the hot shower. Zero followed and closed the shower door, he gathered some soap in his hands and pulled Gadget close to him so he could scrub the batter off his red fur. Gadget blushed more but didn't tense up, it felt relaxing to have Zero wash him down, so he closed his eyes and just enjoyed the moment.

After Gadget was scrubbed with soap, Zero washed the soap off with the shower head, minding the wolf's eyes as the batter did lay over his muzzle and head. Once the soap was washed off and Gadget had fresh, clean fur, Zero began to wash his own body - but Gadget wasn't having it. Gadget grabbed the soap bottle and squeezed some soap into his hands, "Let me help, you helped me so it's only fair if I return the favour" he explained and began to wash the jackal gently, Zero didn't protest but tensed slightly at the wolf touching him.
