After the motel fiasco they were making their way to town. The whole way they were yelling at JJ for keeping the gun and the money, but Shaye didn't listen she was too busy thinking about why the cops were just as interested in it as they were.
They walked up to see a huge commotion on the docks. "Scooter!" A woman yelled crying. "Scooter"
"Who's that? John B asked a girl who was sitting on a crate.
"It's Scooter Grubbs. He was out during the storm." She answered. "Check out this pic I got" she said showing it to them on her phone.
Shaye thought she was gonna be sick. Turning away from the phone, she covered her mouth in disgust. JJ walked up and wrapped her in a hug blocking her from the body that was being wheeled beside them.
They were all talking about the boat he had which happened to be the one they saw in the marsh. JJ still had his arms around her as he leaned down to look her in the eye "You okay?" he whispered.
She plastered a smile in her face and nodded. "Yeah, everything's just crazy right now"
He let out a sigh a gave her a squeeze "You got that right"
They were all sitting on John B's porch when Pope rushed in. Shaye was sitting beside JJ and was playing with the bracelets on his wrist. "Okay, so um we didn't see anything. We don't know anything. We need to have total and complete amnesia" He finished plopping on the couch.
"Actually" JJ said "Pope's right for once. See I agree with you sometimes. Deny Deny Deny"
"Guys we can't keep that money" Kie said looking to Shaye for backup.
Shaye nodded, she would always be there for Kie. "I agree with Kie, that's not our money."
"Not all of us can afford unlimited data plans Kiara. And Shaye, you're richer than all of us, so you don't get a say" JJ said
Standing up she said, "Oh because I was born into a kook family, I automatically don't get a vote? You know just as well as I do JJ that those people aren't my family. You guys are" She finished with a whisper as Kie wrapped an arm around her shoulder, giving JJ a dirty look.
"Listen Shaye, I'm sorry I didn't mean it that way. You're a pogue. You are our family" JJ said running a hand through his hair. The last thing he would ever wanna do is hurt Shaye and he was feeling like an idiot at the moment.
Shaye got up and punched him in the shoulder lightly before smiling up at him. "We have to pass that off to Lana Grubbs otherwise its bad karma" Kie said bringing the subject back up again.
"Bad karma to be implicated in a felony too" Pope added "We gotta go dark"
"If that means we get to keep the money, then I agree." JJ said
