~Is that a Boat?~
Shaye woke up the next morning curled comfortably into JJ's side. John B started walking through the house saying things but her mind was too groggy to comprehend it. She felt JJ stir beside her and mutter something about Polio before she decided to get up.
Untangling herself from JJ she walked out to see John B taking branches off of the HMS Pogue. "There's no service or power" John B started "I have a feeling it will be out for a while"
Shaye let out a groan and leaned against the railing of the porch. She heard footsteps behind come up behind her before JJ rested his chin on her shoulder. "Agatha did some work didn't she" JJ said
"Ya she did" JB replied continuing to clear the boat
Shaye looked over to see JJ sipping on a beer. "You're already drinking?"
JJ just shrugged and shot a wink her way. Shaye never drank. All the pogues knew it but never questioned it. Not even JJ knew why she refused to drink a drop. It was probably the one story she never told him.
They both walked over to JB and JJ asked what he was thinking. "I'm thinking that storm surge pushed all the crabs out on the marsh maze. All those drum are gonna chase the crab."
"What about the DCS?" Shaye asked "Wasn't that today?"
"Nah they're not getting on a ferry"
Shaye looked over to JJ to see him looking right back at her. Her cheeks tinted a light pink as she tried not to look at his toned chest. "Come on, think about it" JB said breaking them out of their trance. "It's God tellin us to fish"
Running back into the house to get changed she threw on an army green bikini with a white cropped tank top and some light washed shorts. Throwing on her bracelets and some sandals she ran back out to see JJ and John B dressed and waiting for her in the boat. "Finally" JJ whined. Shaye just rolled her eyes and shoved him as he almost fell off the boat and let out a yelp.
Soon they were on their way to Heyward's to pick up Pope, looking at all the damage on the way there. "Sure hope Guffy's boat didn't sink, he doesn't have insurance" She heard JJ say. She smiled and nodded her head.
"Hi Miss Amy! You guys get through it?" JB asked
"Still here!" She responded with a wave
"She totally looked at me." JJ said from the front of the boat. Shaye just rolled her eyes
"You are so conceited" She laughed
JJ just came and threw his arm around her shoulder smirking as they continued to look through the wreckage. "Well look who we have here" JB yelled as they pulled up to Pope. "We have a safety meeting, attendance mandatory."
"I can't go my Pop's got me on lockdown." Pope sighed.
"Come on man!" JJ yelled "Your dad's a pussy. Over" he said knowing that Heyward was right behind them.
