19.
PROMPT:  after a while you finally gave him the space.

After each month passed, the distance between the both of you grew. You knew the love you wanted from him wasn't gonna happen. After a couple of years of dating, you hoped to get married to him but it seems that wasn't what he was going for. It's been a while since you guys even said ' I love you. ' to each other. 8 months to be exact.

'Ruel, do you still feel it.' You asked him as he sat in front of you, eating the dinner you cooked quietly. You noticed him take a quick pause, looking at the vase that was filled with half dead flowers in front of him, shaking his head before responding back to you. 'I don't know. I need some space, please. ' He muttered out. You sat there quietly hoping that he would change his answer, but all he did was finish up his dinner quicker than before.

Your love for each other wasn't there anymore. All the pure joy of each other's company wasn't there, you just seemed like a burden to him. You watched as he got up from the table, walking over to the bedroom and shutting the door behind him. This relationship wasn't the same anymore and you knew what you had to do.

Getting up from the table, you began to clean up from dinner. Placing all the dirty dishes in the dishwasher, wiping down the table and that's when you felt a tear fall down your cheek. You opened one of the drawers and grabbed a sheet of paper and a pen and started to write.

RUEL,

AS EACH DAY PASSED BY, WE BOTH KNOW THIS LOVE WE ONCE SHARED ISN'T EVER GOING TO RECONNECT. EVERY NIGHT I FEEL LIKE SUCH A DISTRACTION, SOMETHING I DON'T WANT YOU TO HAVE. WE'VE HAD OUR HIGHS AND OUR LOWS AND IM HAPPY WE EXPERIENCED THEM TOGETHER. I KNOW MY PLACE NOW, AND ITS NOT WITH YOU. YOU GAVE ME PURE HAPPINESS DURING THE YEAES AND NOW I'LL GIVE YOU ALL THE SPACE YOU NEED. OUR LOVE HAS FADED AND I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW IM GLAD I SHARED MY LOVE TO YOU.

I LOVE U

Your tears stained the paper, causing it to have wet spots everywhere. Folding the paper neatly, you placed it on the counter. You unclasped the necklace he gave to you years ago and placed it on top of the letter. You made your way towards the room, silently opening the door. Ruel was on the bed, asleep and snoring loudly. You grabbed the duffle bag that was tucked under the closet, already filled with your stuff. Slinging across your shoulder you made your way towards ruel's sleeping body. Tears began to cloud again your eyesight as you kissed the top of his head. You quickly rushed out the room and towards your car.

You placed the bags into the trunk. By now it's early morning, and the sun was gonna be up in a few hours. Shutting the trunk shut, you made your way towards the front door. You grabbed the key he gave you when you agreed to move in with him, you still remembered how happy you were when we asked you. Now you didn't how you got here but it was quite a journey, placing the key into the slot you turned it and heard it lock.

Bending down, you placed it under the 'welcome home' mat. As you made your way towards your car, your chest was in so much pain. Yet you knew this was for the best. Climbing into the drivers seat, you looked at the small house in front of you. The clock flashed out 4:29 brightly, and ruel would be awake in an hour and a half. You quickly turned on the car and backed out of the driveway. A chapter of your life closing behind you, as a new one opened up in front of your eyes.
