21.
PROMPT: ruel regrets for not telling you
how much he dearly loves you.

As the sun made it's way through the closed blinds, ruel knew it was the start of a new day. 'Another day, another song to be made.' He groaned out as he pulled the covers off of him. The silence of the house utterly confused him, by the time he wakes up he'd usually hear you preparing for the day or cooking up breakfast.

He made his way to the bathroom to get ready for the day ahead of him. As he walked through the door, the bathroom seemed larger and cleaner than normal. The whole room was spotless, walking over to the counter he reached out for his toothbrush and noticed yours wasn't there. 'weird. she's probably getting a new one.' he muttered to himself as he washed his face and brushed his teeth.

Making his way back towards the bedroom, the minute he opened the closet his heart dropped to his stomach. All of your clothes were gone, all there was left were his. He ran out the bedroom and looked everywhere for a sign your stuff was somewhere tucked away, but nothing was their. The house looked like when he first moved in, plain and empty. He was now walking around the in boxers, trying his best to find signs of you.

He walked over to the kitchen and noticed the only part of you still in the house, the necklace he gave you. He made his way over to the counter and grabbed the necklace, the small heart that laid in this palm was now the only sign of you. He opened up the locket and saw the same picture of you guys together. The pain in his chest grew as each second passed, grabbing the letter that the necklace was on.

He opened it up and the first thing he noticed were how some of the letters were smudged. He knew the only reason why they were, they were from your tears while you wrote this.

'AS EACH DAY PASSED BY, WE BOTH KNOW THIS LOVE WE ONCE SHARED ISN'T EVER GOING TO RECONNECT.'

Oh how he wished this wasn't true, but deep down ruel knew that the love you both shared wasn't the same anymore. It seemed as you both were only strangers living in the same house. The pain in his chest grew and tears filled up his eyes, he wiped them off as he tried to continue reading the letter.

'I KNOW MY PLACE NOW, AND ITS NOT WITH YOU.'

He held onto the necklace that was in his hand tightly as he began to let out tears. He experienced the greatest years of his life with you, and now that time is coming to an end.

'OUR LOVE HAS FADED AND I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW IM GLAD I SHARED MY LOVE TO YOU.'

Ruel had no idea where you went off to and the only thing to remember you by was the locket in his hand. He knew that going after you wasn't gonna change anything, the relationship you guys had came to an end. You leaving was for your own good, and there was no reason for you to stay.

As days passed by ruel wasn't getting better, all his songs he created were all gloomy and sad. His fans soon catched on as they listened to the lyrics, they knew of your relationship but they never got anything more than that.

Couple months later ruel would be preforming one of his songs for the first time. He was nervous to go out in front of everyone and sing about letting go of this relationship he shared with you. As he sang out his voice way cracking more than normal, he didn't want to stop now.

'But the world has got a different
plan for me and you
And it hurts when it's true.'

As ruel sang out, he felt a single tear slip once he closed his eyes. While singing along he remembered all the happy nights of you guys staying up together, whispering I love you's. He remembered all the stupid fights you guys had and how they always ended with you two wrapped up in each others arms in bed. He was finally letting go of everything, but he was never gonna forget you.

He ran off the stage as the last song finally ended. There's was only more thing he needed to do and it was a small interview. After fixing himself up he made his way over to the set up and sat down in front of the camera.

The interview went by smoothly until he was asked the final question. 'So ruel, your fans want to know what's that necklace you always wear.' The interviewer questioned out. Ruel looked down at the circular locket that dangled from his neck. Inside that locket held the picture that was inside the necklace he gave to you. Ruel pauses for a second, trying to come up with a good answer.

'I bought it to remember a special moment that I didn't want to ever let go of.' Ruel stated out and with that the interview was over. He made his way back to the dressing room and looked himself in the mirror.

This was the day he finally opened up the new chapter after holding on to the last one for so long. He was finally gonna continue on without you on his side, like how you did months ago.
