My ears was ringing
I was there in the room but i wasn't
I couldn't take my eyes off her
Off of her bumpShe was pregnant
And it was clear as day who the father was.My hearing was finally coming back to me and i started taking in my surroundings.
Everyone was quiet.
Everyone was looking at me while i looked at her.
But if they only knew that my focus wasn't on her but rather at the bump she was holding protectively.
Oscar stood infront of her.
Protecting this girl from me
Protecting his child as if i was some sort of monster.Everything that happened that night came back once again.
I was over it.
I tried to forget about it.But here this girl was about to give Oscar the one thing i couldn't.
A child.
I don't know how long i stood there just staring at them.
Keisha had barged in to make sure i was okay but i could see her eyes widen once she saw what i was looking at.
I put down the bat in defeat.
I closed my eyes wishing this was a terrible dream. I could feel that one rogue tear running down my cheek and it was followed by another.
I opened my eyes once again.
This was definitely not a dream
This was realityShe was pregnant.
I could feel Keisha'a hands on mine as she pulled me to follow her.
I wasn't going to fight it. I let her pull me out the door. Ignoring the looks i was receiving.
Pity.
Once i reached outside i crouched down putting my head in my hand.
"She's pregnant Kiesha." I whispered in disbelief.
"I know hun,but come on wake up. Don't lose composure right here. Count to 10 and pull it together Robyn."
It took 10 seconds for me to finally straighten up.
"I'm okay I'm okay." I reassured Keisha and i stood up on my feet.
He didn't even come after me.
It was not possible for the human body to experience this much emotion all at once.
I acted on impulse and the next thing i knew, i had swinged the bat on The Impala.
The sound of the window breaking the only noise heard in this quiet night.
