"Are you okay?" Robyn wrapped her arms around me as I stared at her through the mirror. I closed my eyes taking in the feeling of her bump pressed against me."Do you think it's a good idea to go after Cuchillos?" I asked her. It made perfect sense to want revenge against her after everything she's put both Robyn and I through these past weeks but it also made perfect sense not to.
Something changed in the both of us ever since it became physically official that Robyn was pregnant. It made everything real. Our wants came second and this baby was our first priority and I knew She was thinking the same thing.
"I don't know..." I turned around pulling her between my legs. "As much as I want her to pay for everything,I want us to be safe, our baby to be safe. I want to be able to walk down an aisle and marry you. I want our baby to have a future. I want our little family." We both looked down at her stomach.
"Everything in my life has been all sorts of fucked up but you, this." I grabbed her left hand .." and this." I looked down at her bump "..makes all of it worth it. I don't want to ruin it."
"So,we leave Freeridge?" She asked looking up at me.
Do we?
I was so conflicted. It was the safest thing to do so,but Freeridge as much as I hate it, is where I was born and raised. It held so much memories most of them more bad than good. To just up and leave sounded wrong for me."For the baby?"
"For the baby." She nodded hesitantly.
I knew it was going to be hard to try and get this across. Especially to Chico's father who was so adamant on getting Revenge on Cuchillos for something his son willingly did.
And then there was the homies, was it selfish of me to leave them all? Benji had Keisha but Pablo has no one,as long as his abuelita was around he couldn't leave freeridge. She was the only blood relative he had left.
It was so easy for Robyn to leave but I had way too many ties.
But the baby comes first.
