Once I finally managed to regain my breathe, I screamed, "Call an ambulance!"

I would have done it myself but at that moment I was filled with panic I didn't know what to do.

"Already on it," The man inside of the car informed me.

My heart felt like it was falling through my body. Had Jay really taken the car hit instead of me? I felt really upset now. All those things I had said to him not even three minutes earlier. All those horrible things. It should have been me under the car! Not him.

Danielle finally breathed and turned around to look at me. She threw herself on me as I started sobbing. I squeezed her tightly, laying my head on her shoulder.

"Callie, I'm so sorry!" Danielle said, hugging my back.

"Save it," was all I managed to force out, as tears overwhelmed me.

"Where's this ambulance!" The driver mumbled, nealing down next to Jay. I couldn't drag myself to look at him. I just couldn't. All the blood surrounding him made me sick. And it was all my fault.

I pulled away from Danielle and looked her up and down.

"Danielle, your peircing!" I screamed. Danielle belly peircing ripped the skin around her navel out of place. There was blood all around it and the skin was bruised, peeled off and sore. It must of happened when she and I skidded along the road. As for the peircing itself, it was bent and disguised by blood. Danielle held her belly button.

"Don't worry about me," she said simply, covering it up.

"Yeah but chances are it'll get infected," I informed her.

"That doesn't matter right now!" Danielle shouted. I paused. She was right. I was only trying to change the subject so I wouldn't have to think about Jay in the pool of blood.

"I know, but..." I trailed off, not knowing what to say.

"Oh my God, Callie! Your face!"

"Hey!" I screamed, offended by her remark.

"No, I mean your nose is bleeding. And your cheek!" She pointed out. I instantly raised my hand to touch my cheek, but pulled it away after my hand made contact with my skin.

"Ow!" I hissed, as a painful tingling in my cheek rose. I frowned. That would leave a scar.

The ambulance sirens roared as they got closer to the scene, fighting their way through all the traffic the car infront had caused.

"Finally," I mumbled to myself. They stopped just behind the car and three men ran out of the vehicle with a stretcher. Then, one short woman ran to us with a note pad and started quizzing us.

"Describe what happened please?" She asked, looking us both in the eye. She was wearing green clothes with the word "paramedic" sewed on the back. Her thin blonde hair was tied up into a bun, not one strand of hair out of place.

"Uh, well I," I started, trying to calm myself down in order to speak. I watched as they left Jay on the floor for the moment, placing an oxygen mask over his nose and mouth. My eyes widened as they felt around his body, in guessing to see if there were any bones broken.

"I, uh," I stared again.

"Take your time," her high-pitched voice said, calming me down as I knew I wasn't being put under pressure.

"Well w-we were c-crossing the road and t-t-the car came and," I stopped in order to stop the tears flowing down my cheek.

"The car came and Jay pushed us out of the way," Danielle finished for me.
