As the footsteps eventually faded, quick clip-cloppy ones resembling Rebecca and her specially made high-heeled school shoes and short almost silent ones, Resembling the male teacherescortingher to her lesson, I decided it was alright to come out and I cried a cry of relief. Jay layed the blanket back out after I whispered, "I think they're gone." I wasappalledat the fact Rebecca may have heard this and could easily ruin my life with that information.
"Are you crazy! I could be exposed and you're just laying out a blanket!" I snapped at him, harshly. He straightened the edges of he blanket out as he unfolded the corners.
"Chill," He said, calmly. "Rebecca's my girlfriend, if she heard anything, she'd say something." I was envious at his remark, "girlfriend" but I ignored it.
"How do you know though, Jay?" I asked, in need for a certain answer. He smirked. "Jay!" I yelled, now irritated.
"I just do." He said, laying down on the blanket. He patted it andgesturedme to come and sit next to him but I narrowed my eyes at him. I rubbed my face eagerly. I really did hope Rebecca hadn't found out. She was really weird, who knows what she could do with that information?!
"I'm not sitting anywhere until I-"
"Callie! Just calm down. If she knows, she knows. But I'm telling you, she doesn't." I released a small sigh. Jay just didn't understand me, did he?
"But how can you be certain!?" I yelled.
"I just can." I stared at him, narrow-eyed. I clenched my fists in anger as I walked away.
"Callie! Where are you going?" He asked.
"I'm going to lesson." I replied, still walking away.
"But your like 50 minutes late, do you think there's a point?"
"Yes I do." I responded, coldly.
"But Callie! All that I said, that we shared over here, what's going to happen with that?" All of a sudden, I experienced a cold feeling towards him and I instantly hated myself for revealing my life to him.
"It's nothing. Rebecca's still your girlfriend, my parents are still dead, my Uncle's still disabled and that's that." I stopped to face him. "Just forget anything I said to you and I'll forget what you said to me."
He froze. "So again, this is over, just like that?"
"What is over? There was never anything here." I stated.
"But Callie!" He screamed, now getting up of his precious blanket to come and chase me. "You can't do this again. It's not fair! You keep messing me about Callie Woods, and I don't like it!" I felt a gentle tug on my shoulder as he turned me around to face him. I sighed. He was right. It wasn't fair on him to have all these change of attitudes. I frowned at him as I realized my mistake.
"I'm sorry," I mumbled.
"That's OK. Now I don't think Rebecca knows." He said, bringing up the subject.
"Then what was she doing round there?" I asked him, expectantly.
"I don't know, Callie, I really don't. But one thing I do know is that Rebecca would say something if she heard. She'd comment on it, she always has something to comment about. Even if she does know, what can we do? Nothing. So we might as well just accepts whatever happens." I stayed silent.
"How can you be so calm?" I asked, wanting to know his secret. I wish I could be like that. I was going to drive myself into an early grave if I kept worrying like that.
"I just... am." He replied. "And you should be too."
"But how? I can't. I always have to worry." I said, as Jay leaded me back to the blanket. We both layed down and gazed at each other as we spoke. Nobody said anything for a while however it wasn'tawkwardat all.
