"Hello?" I said, after my phone ringing many times. "One minute, I'm a bit busy right now."

I held the phone in my hand while shoving my last suitcase into the back of the cab.

"Looks like you've got your whole life in these suitcases," the cab driver commented, closing the boot door and making his way to the front of the car. If only he knew how right he was.

"You have no idea," I responded, opening the back of the cab door and pushing myself in. I placed my hand over my mouth as I yawned. I then pulled out my phone again.

"Hello?" I said.

"Yeah hello? Hi Callie," Christopher replied. "I'm so tired."

"You and me both," I replied, sleepily. I leant back against the backrest of the seat as the cab started to move forward.

The sound of the engine running and the occasional distant honking of a horn kept me awake.

"Where are you?" Christopher asked.

"Don't know. Somewhere on the motorway. We should be at the airport in about half an hour though," I replied, trying to force my eyes to remain open.

"Woah. What time did you wake up?"

"Three thirty. I wanted to make sure everything was doubled checked and stuff. If I leave something I can't just come back. And ofcourse I had to get ready too."

"And you've left already? Its only a little past five."

I rolled my eyes. "I know but my flight is at six and I have to check in and all that."

"Right."

There was an awkward silence down the phone that was filled by us trying to think of what to say next.

"Um... Have you got your passport?" Christopher questioned.

Panic rose up within me as I searched myself and my bag for my passport. My eyes rose when it wasn't there. "Oh my gosh! One minute Christopher," I said as I put the phone down on the seat next to me and continued to rummage around.

Relief washed through me when I realised it was in my hand luggage pocket. I picked up the phone again, placing my free hand to my chest to feel how hard my heart beat increased. "I've got it," I said with a smile.

"Oh. Have you got snacks?"

"Yeah but not many because I know I'll be sleeping on the plane," I responded, fighting with myself to keep my eyes open. "How long from here?" I asked the cab driver.

He looked at me in the mirror. "About 20 minutes now love."

"Thanks," I responded. "So Chris, what are you doing?"

"Nothing much. On the phone to you. In bed. I should be sleeping really."

"Haha. Are you staying awake because of me?"

"Yeah. I'd rather talk to you then sleep though," he said and I imagined him smiling.

"Aw how sweet," I commented. "I'd rather be asleep then talk to you," I joked. Christopher laughed.

"You're not serious are you?"

I giggled. "Nope. I'd stay awake all night to talk to you. But I'd need something really high in caffeine to do that."

"I know! I'm staying awake on two cups of coffee."

"Oh, I hate coffee!" I said, cringing.

"How can you hate coffee?"
