a 30 minute flight led her to Riverdale, the town with Pep and Darkness. the sun was just rising and  the light was hitting her sunglasses as she took them off and embraced the blinding light of the sun.

as she rushed to the hospital, she got tons of phone calls from veronica. she ignored it of course, there were more important things than a reality check.

she pushed her mom's door and saw her sleeping in her bed, hooked up in all of those wires. "mom?" her voice echoed through the empty white room. realization hits her, she's at the final stage of it.

the final stage of the disease that would soon tear their family in pieces. since everyone was broken in the cooper family, no one just didn't noticed.

betty sat down beside her mom's bed, heartbroken to see her mom so weak and frail like she was on the verge of...

her thoughts were interrupted by dr. Middle coming in the room with a pitiful glance at her. dr. middle's hair was in a bun with strands of it falling to her face. she was wearing scrubs with a white coat like normal doctors

"this is her first nap in weeks. Ms.Cooper, she's-"
the doctor spoke but was stopped by betty's sobs. a tear escapes her eyes and falls to her cheek.
"she's not gonna survive, isn't she?"

betty looks up to the doctor, awaiting an answer from her but she could not speak due to the fact of the weight that she feels on her shoulders like she feels everytime as a doctor but this felt different, as if the doctor herself was feeling the exact same pain as the patient's daughter.

"the cancer as spread to other parts of the body and has created tumors. we could still go through chemo or radiation therapy but she's in a really bad shape and..."
the doctor could not bring herself to say another word.

"okay, i get it. i'll call her friends"
the doctor leaves the room and goes on to another patient as her 25 hour strikes in her 24 hour shift.

after an hour of crying, betty looks over to her mom, she was still napping. she smiles and stands up as she reaches into her purse to get to her phone. without even thinking, she called the one person she didn't want to hear today

"cousin betty, what a surprise."
cheryl said with a hint of emotion at the side. she forgave betty for such comments but she somehow still hated her.

"cheryl, i... need you to come here at Riverdale. i need you all to come here" betty's voice was so raspy that cheryl noticed she was crying and felt sorry for her cousin

"what's wrong?"
cheryl asked without even thinking of the world around her.
"she's gotten worse, Cher and i don't know what to do" betty's eyes begin to water again as a waterfall of tears come running.

"i'll be there"
the line clicks and betty falls onto the ground, knowing how disgusting it is, and cried.
