Wild Weather

22 8 7

Sunlight on foaming water,

Trees a cacophony of movement

Rain-bright splattering windows

Bare twigs dancing with the sky

My fingers clutching at the window,

Knuckles white against the frame

Eyes wide

Gaze fixated on the roiling storm

Even clouds look hurried,

Wind tugging wisps from their sides where they moved too slowly,

Sun piercing where they jumbled apart.

And wind, wind everywhere!

Busy rushing angry around,

Clattering branches,

Flicking little pieces of water into the sky

And weather rages on,

With me watching from the sidelines,

Protected from its wrath

By ten miles of glass,

And an entire world.

a/n: I hope you enjoyed the second poem! It's very different from the first.... Also I haven't had so much time to edit it, so any suggestions would be really useful! I'm not sure that it flows quite so nicely...

But anyway I enjoyed writing it. I thought the feeling of being behind a window fitted rather well with the current predicament, don't you?

I hope you're all well and staying safe, Cassie <33
