In the echoes of the morning,
Before the wind awakes
The loch is like a mirror,
And I a speck of dust
The sea an arab silk,
The sky an endless blue
And the soft embrace of ocean
Cradling my dancing form
Mountain russets
Smearing reflections on the water,
Breath stolen by the the cold,
And beauty.
Trees in blurry duplication,
Bright with yellow buds
Sky bleeding into sea,
Swaying with the ripples of my movement
Arms aching with the joy of it,
Hands too numb to move
Low sunlight brightening the buoys
feathers in cold water
A stinging dose of heaven,
Surreal as a dream
Snatched from between falling moon
And rising sun.
a/n: swimming in the sea is my favourite lockdown activity, I'm so lucky to live close to the shore. Although I did get stung by a jellyfish today :(
question: which has been your favourite poem so far? I'm curious.
(mine is the first one)
anyway, hope you enjoyed, xxCassie
