The unwanted power

Chapter Nine

"Drowning, fire balls, passing out, powers. I don't know wht devan was talking about, it just doesn't make sense." I say aloud as I'm walking home.

I walk trough the door and find Adain and my dad packing up the beach's bag.
"Hey sweetie, why you back so early? Forget something?" My dad asks.

"No, I just thought I should wait for you guys." I really don't want to tell my dad about what happened because, I know he will ask me a bunch of questions. I'm not sure I even know all the details so I know I won't be able to answer his questions.In fact I don't know really anything that happened. So if I end up telling him he will freak out and won't let me or Adain go to the beach for fifty years. Because it will be to dangerous, he might even make me quit my swim team.

"Well were ready to go so let's head out." He goes and opens the door, Adain runs trough it and races to the beach. I walk trough to, even though right now I don't want to be anywhere near the ocean. Which is pretty hard when you live in a beach house in California.

I go and I sit on the beach by the water. I don't want to risk getting in it again. Especially since I am still tired, from whatever happened before. "You going to go swim?" My dad asks coming and sitting down by me.

"I don't really feel like it anymore." I say. My dad is probably so confused. I literally just begged him to go swimming and now, I'm saying I don't want to. I guess I could go sit in the water. And play with Adain but I'm not going to, go any deeper then my knees.

"So let me get this straight, at six a, clock this morning you were dying to go swimming and now you don't want to go at all?" Dad has this confused/ concerned look on his face.

"Umm, well now that you say it I do want to go swim, I'll go play with Adain." I say jogging away, before he could say anything more. I look back and my dad is still giving me the look so I hurry over to Adain.

"Lily! Will you come and play shark with me?" Adain asks running out of the water and giving me a hug. Shark is a game where ether me or Adain goes under the water and try's to sneak up on the other and pull them into the water.

"Of course I will Adain, you get to be it first." I really just hope that being  under and in the water won't make the pain I felt earlier come back, because now that I was out of the water it felt fine.

"Ok! You close your eyes and Count to fthirty, and I'll go away so you can't see me." I halfway close my eyes just so I can still keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't go to far into the ocean.

"Thirty!" I say, I start walking around and all the sudden I feel a tickle on on my legs. Adain Jumps out of the water, laughing and try's to pull me down, after about a minute of him trying to pull me under I let him get me down.

"I got you! And you didn't even see me coming. I'm getting better, and one day I'll be better then you." Adain says.

"You are getting better, and your right I didn't even see you coming." I say laughing. I'm not feeling any pain so I guess I'm ok to stay in the water. I tell Adain to close his eyes. I go under water right next to him. Once he shouts thirty I pull him down and he starts cracking up.

"That was so fast, you are a good shark." He says as he comes and jumps on me and pushes me under.

We play shark for about ten more minutes, and then Adain gets tired and he drags me, to the shore and we sit down and we have a splash war. After doing that for a few minutes we go onto shore and sit with my dad. Adain falls asleep on my lap in about two minutes.

"I think we should head home, don't you?" My dad says in a whisper.

"Yeah, I think I wore out Adain." I say laughing. My dad picks up all of the beach stuff and I slowly and carefully pick up Adin and carry him inside. Today has been a good day, we haven't really done something like this as a family for a long time, it's nice to take a break, from the crazy ness of the world. I hope we will do it again soon.

I can't believe that this is my ninth chapter! I really hope you guys are enjoying it. I am so excited to publish the next few chapters, they have lots of crazy stuff happen in them! Feel free to tell me ways I can improve my story, I love hearing from you guys.
