The next morning I grudgingly go to our meeting spot and wait for Devan. He comes a few minutes late. "Hey, sorry I'm a little late, I had to grab a bunch of supplies." Devan says, as he offers me a hand to help me up.

"What kind of supplies?" I ask.

"Just a few things that are going to help you with training." He gives me a small smile. He's making me feel bad about getting mad at him, I shouldn't of yelled at him. I mean after all he doesn't benefit from helping me. It does seem like he doesn't know what he's doing but at least he's trying. I should try and be less judgmental.

Once we get to sunshine cove, he tells me to try on final time to see if I could make a flame. I go over to my spot by the water and try, this time I was trying. But still nothing happened, not wanting to keep trying I head back over to Devan.

Devan is pulling a bunch of sticks out of his bag. "Why is he pulling out sticks?" I ask myself. He then starts setting them out in a certain way, and when I realize what he's doing my heart stops. Devan is making a Fire.

He hasn't even started the fire yet but seeing the wood brings back bad memories. I think of the time when I was messing around with my dad while we were camping and my chair tipped and I fell into the fire. I got several burn marks on my arms from that.

But worst I think once again about, the time I lost my mom. Before I can stop myself I start shaking and few tears fall down my ace a sim reminded of the nightmares I've been having recently.

"You okay?" Devan asks. He had just finished building the fire. "You said yesterday that you didn't feel like what we were doing was working; and it's my fault I don't really know the best way to help you but I really want to. You may not like this, but I came up with an idea."

"I'm sorry I got mad at you, I really shouldn't of, I'm just worried, everything is changing and I don't know what to do about it." I say wiping my eyes.

"It's really okay. So this plan I have will definitely not be your favorite but I think it will work. What were going to do is try to help you over come your fear. You have to get used to being around fire, I know you hate it but if your comfortable around it, it will be easier to have it on your hand."

"Will I have to sit next to it? Or can I sit a hundred feel away?" I ask laughing trying to brighten the mood, but being serious at the same time.

Devan laughs giving me a smile, "you have to sit close to it but not to close, then the more comfortable you get the closer you'll move. Is it okay if I light it?"

"Yeah." I walk a couple of feet backwards so I'm not so close to it. After a few minutes Devan has a decent fire going and is adding sticks to it.

"Okay." Stepping back. "Do you think you could come sit where I am? Devan is about five feet away from the fire.

"I can try." I say my voice trembling. Very slowly I walk over and stand next to Devan, I'm doing okay, until the smoke starts blowing towards me. "Ahh!" I scream as I sprint away, that was to close!

After another two try's that ended with me running away Devan puts out the fire and says "Okay, umm I have a another idea. Do you think you'll be able to come over to my place?"

"What are we going to do there?"

"Well it's gonna be a lot like what we're doing here but I a little different, I think it will be better and easier for you."

Smiling I say, "as long as I don't have to go closer to the fire I'll be fine." After Devan packs up his supplies we head out of the cove and he leads the way to his house. We walk on this really secluded path that is absolutely stunning-how have I never found these places, I've lived here for over ten years- it was like I was walking g through a tunnel of trees and flowers.

"How long have you lived here?"

"I think it's been two years, I moved in with a friend of my moms. How about you? How long have you lived here?" He asks.

"It's been about eleven years." I say. "How did you find all of these cool places? I've never even heard of any of them."

"I have my ways." He says with a smirk. We walk for a few more minutes before we reach his house. It's a medium sized house with no other houses Around it. The yard is beautiful! It has Pom trees and flowers all over the grass is green and there a small stream running trough the gardens.

"This is beautiful!" I say.

"Thanks, it's beautiful until your the one who had to take care of it." He laughs.

"You take care of all of this?! How do you have time for that?" I am amazed.

"Well when you don't go to school and your not doing any kind of a sport you have a lot of free time. Anyway, let's head inside."

I wanted to ask him about what he meant by not going to school but I could tell he didn't want to talk about it. We walk inside and the inside is just as pretty as the outside. It has white walls with a bunch of pictures of the ocean and a few family photos. The floor was a drift wood color. And the view! The view was breathtaking. It looked out over the beach and there were fluffy clouds in the sky. The sun was shining down on the sea making it sparkle. The whole thing felt magical. I'd seen some pretty amazing things but this was spectacular.

"This view is stunning! Everything about this place is stunning. How did your parents get this place. You'd think it would've been sold a long time ago, but you said that you've only been here for about two years."

"Uhhh, well actually, my parents don't live here." His voice trembled as he try's to continue. "I live with Austin. Woodlyn, he was a really close friend of my mom, so he took me in. Umm anyway do you want get started?"

"Yeah, lets go." I wanted to ask him more, I can tell that he is hiding something. But it doesn't seem like he wants to talk about it. I want to help him but I don't know how.
