I woke up in a cold sweat, tears running down my face, I was breathing a lot harder then I should've been after waking up. My whole left arm was in pain. And my head was screaming in pain from the memory. It had all felt so real, it felt like I was five again. I could feel the water on me as I finished the race, and I could feel the way the heat hurt my eyes and the way my arm felt after being burned. But worst of all I could feel the way my heart broke when I realized that my mom was gone.

"Hey lily, you need to get ready to go we have to leave in  a few minutes." My dad says knocking on my door. I pulled the blankets of and tried to stand up but my legs wouldn't move. And my whole body was shaking. I lay back down hoping it will keep my headache from getting worse.

Five minutes later my dad comes in, "lily we need to".. he stops when he sees me in bed. "You feelin ok?" You look like you just ran a marathon." He says teasingly.

"I'm fine.." I say my voice shaking. "Well your definitely not going to swim practice this morning, in fact I don't think your going anywhere today. I'll call your coach and tell him you can't make it." He kisses my forehead before he heads out of my room closing the door behind him.

I try to say thank you but my voice refuses to work again, so I just sit back down and try to make my brain think of anything else but pain. It wasn't working. All I could think of was they way I felt when I saw my whole house up in flames, I couldn't get the image out my head. The memory just kept replaying over and over again.

I closed my eyes, and everything went. Dark. I tried thinking of water and anything but heat anything that reminded me of cold. After what felt like hours of trying my mind became so exhausted I fell asleep. The pain didn't go away but it calmed down and I was able to sleep without any nightmares.

I cannot wait to write the next chapter! I hope you like it.
