"Alright everybody we are going to evacuate the pool. I'm going to call the school and ask them what they want us to do. Alright everyone get movin." My coach says, as He grabs his phone.

My team is leaving the building, but I don't really notice and I don't really care. The pool is boiling! Why is it boiling? And why did it not burn me? Everyone else got burned from it why didn't I? My stomach hurts just like when I went swimming yesterday. But I  don't have any burns.

"What's going on!"I say out loud accidentally. "This isn't supposed to happen. Please tell me what's going on."

"Lily, I need you to leave okay, you can just head home because swim practice won't be happening today. Okay, I'm sure it's just something it do with the heater. We'll have it all figured out and ready for tomorrow." My couch then leads me and the last few kids out before closing the door.

Home? I can't go home. No I'm going to figure out what is happening. I'm
Going to go find Devan! He seems to know what's happening.

"Where would Devan even be?" I say. I know it's stupid to go to devan. I don't know what else to do though. He seems like the only one who has a clue about what's going on. Ughh why is this so confusing! I really want to forget about this whole thing. But I can't because some how -I don't know how- but I think I'm the reason that pool was boiling.

Devan has got to know what's happening. Hopefully, after he tells I'll be able to stop this from ever happening again. But before I do that I need to find Devan first.

"Where should o even start looking? Maybe he's at the beach?" I really now nothing about him so, I don't know where I'm gonna find him.

"Who are you looking for?" I hear a slightly familiar voice say from beside me.

"Devan? Is that you?" I turn around and standing behind me is Devan. "I was looking  for you, sadly. I need you to tell me why I boiled an entire pool! I know I told you I was going to forget but I can't. So please tell me why all of this is happening." I say.

"Wow,wow, wow, wait! You boiled a pool?! Like a whole pool? Did you mean like when you
Cool something and you boil
The water? Cause if yes then I need to go see this. What pool?" Devan  says coming up besides me.

"Yes, maybe? I don't know if it's boiled but its what it looks like. You can't go to the pool because it's closing down for the day and your not leaving until you tell me why I was the one to burn the pool."

A tear slips down my face, it's not because I'm angry or sad, I'm just scared. Things like this don't happen to normal people. I don't like how it's happening to me. This is all stuff that is only supposed to happen in movies.

Devan looks at me hesitantly like he still wants to go to the pool. "Okay, I'll tell you what I know, I am going to warn you that I won't be able to answer all your questions. Before I tell you we need to go somewhere away from here. Somewhere there won't be a lot of people. How about the beach?"

I really don't want to be anywhere near water. But if it means that I can figure all of this out then I will do it. "That's fine. Let's head over now." I say as I start walking towards the beach. The walk over is completely silent, he keeps trying to talk except he cuts himself of before he says much.

We walk past my house and down to the beach. We go and sit on the sand by the sea . "Okay, I really don't know how to start. I'm not entirely sure if your situation is the same as mine, but I'm going to tell you what I think anyway. You ready?" Devan asks.

"Yes, please just tell me, I won't Interrupt so don't stop until your done" I begged trying to keep the fear from my voice. I'm actually scared I don't know what he is going to say. I shouldn't t be scared but I am.

"Just promise me when I finish that you wont punch me." He says with a. Laugh. I laugh, making some of my fear and discomfort go away.

"So, there's not really any easy way to put this but you have powers. Since you flew out of the water in a fire ball your power is most likely fire. You also boiled a pool. I don't know how you got them or if they will go away. I got mine when I was five, and I still have them. There's not a certain age you get them ether.I know you don't want them, sadly There's not really anything you can do about it."

"So what your saying is that... that I can control fi.. fire?" I say my voice shaking. "Why fire? Of all things why fire? How do I control this pppower. I say My voice trembling.

"You have to tell it what you want and take control, you can't let it take control  of you. If you do it will end up hurting people that you love and destroying things you don't want destroyed." Devan says his eyes distant it's as though he's remembering something.

I don't think I'm ready to believe that I have a power it just doesn't work. What's your power? And how do you know so much about all this stuff, do you know other people who have so called super powers?" I ask trying to keep my voice form shaking.

"I learned all of this from experience, and no I don't know any one else besides you who has this kind of ability. If you still don't believe me try to think of the hottest you've ever been in your life and push all that heat to your hands."

"Are you asking me to try and use this fire power?" I say scooting away from him.

"Yeah, you've got to give it a try, that way you'll believe me." Devan says standing up and offering me a hand. I take it and stand up. I guess I'll try.

I close my eyes and I start thinking about the time when me and my dad went camping. We were sitting by the fire and my chair tipped and I fell into the fire. I take all of the panic and heat i felt from that moment and push it towards my hands. I open my eyes slowly and look down at my hand.

There is a small flame dancing in the wind, on my hand!

"Ahhhh!" I scream as I shake my hand. The flame disappears. My hands are shaking and a few tears drop down my face. I was just on fire. This is real, I don't want it. I don't want to control fire.

"You did it! That wasn't bad for your first time. You okay?" He asks as he walks over to me. I try and wipe the tears form my face and keep from shaking.

"With heavy breathing I say, "I'm not ready."

"You seem scared, why? I feel like most people would be jumping for joy because they figured out they have the power to control fire. Why aren't you? Are you still struggling to believe it." He asks me.

"No I believe it. I'm just terrified of it."
