Skyleap arrives with the letter

Senn was training in Galleous's basement to become a fighter. if the Voltaris were after the Prime Songs, he needed to be ready. he wanted to be as great as a fighter as Thalleous. it still pained him to think of his fallen friend, speared from behind by Tygren without a word. Galleous had been very upset about his brother's death and was trying to make up for it.

suddenly, a bell sounded from outside, Galleous's voice came from upstairs.

"Senn, quickly! word just arrived from the Knights!" 

Senn dropped his spear and ran upstairs to see what the fuss was about. he saw a majestic light brown mare with white spots and bright blue eyes rearing around as  Galleous tried to calm the horse down.

"Skyleap came back from Mount Velgrin with a letter on her neck. it's a young Ardonian who wrote it, Arthulilia Sendaris. Skyleap seems disturbed and i don't see any other of her comrades."Galleous said as Senn approached the skittish horse.

Senn tried to get the note that the young female Sendarian had tied to her horse but Skyleap kept jumping back. Galleous tried to stop the horse from moving but the horse still jumped back. Senn had a light-bulb moment and ran to get Timber. 

Leading Timber to Skyleap, Timber sensed Skyleaps fear and trotted forward, communicating with the spotted mare. Skyleap calmed down enough for Senn to grab the leaf-letter from Skyleap and stepped back. he looked at Arthulilia's note and froze.

"Well Senn? What did the note say?" Galleous asked.

Senn read out loud what the note said. "Deathsinger has returned."

Ardonians started to ask questions if the letter was real or not. after the questioning, there was panic. thankfully, there were no children in Ataraxia so the females woudn't be ushering them into safety. however, there was only a few female Ardonians to begin with so it was mainly males starting to panic due to the fact that Deathsinger had been dead for 150 years and now it was rumoured he was back. but the question was "how has Deathsinger back from the dead?"

Stating the fact that the note was writen on a Velgrin Leaf, only found on Mount Velgrin, and the fact that no one else had returned with Skyleap, then the need to send a horse away with a note hastily written on a leaf would have been dire and desperate. Senn and Galleous were told to go the Masters as they were the ones who managed to get Skyleap under control and got the note.

"Master Aurelius, if Deathsinger has  returned, what about Tidesinger? does this mean that the two never killed each other but went forward in time? their bodies weren't found, only their songs." Galleous said, pointing out facts.

"it would mean that the army we sent would be too weak to face Deathsinger. we can only say they were defeated with Arthulilia writing the note before sending it to us. that would also mean that the Voltaris are now off their mountain. it would be safe to go there now." Aurelius suggested.

"what if Tidesinger came through and helped after the note was writen? that means someone survived." Senn said.

"i see. you might need to take Skyleap to Mount Velgrin to see if the Voltaris are moving. if not, come straight back. we can't risk anymore soldiers."  Hadion Mendoris said.

"i get your brother is out there, Hadion. one of our youngest Sendarians are out there, she's too young but she insisted she'd go. now it may of been her doom. i'm concerned about our future generations as well." Siderian Mendoris said.

"so what do we do? the Voltaris could be heading this way right now and we're just standing around!" Senn butted in.

the Ardonians just stared at Senn, suprise in their eyes.

"i'd say he's right. who do we send?" Galleous broke the silence.

"you, the boy, Hubris Nestoris and Hadion Mendoris." Aurelius stated.

An hour later, Senn was seated on Skyleap, Galleous on Timber, Hubris on his horse Shadow and Hadion on his horse, Sunstream. the group was equipped with bows and arrows, swords, spears, shields and enough medical equipment for the group incase they got injured. also food was included for the trip. Since Skyleap had run from Mount Velgrin, she lead the way with Senn on her back. Thalleous had said Ataraxia was safest for Senn and now he was leaving the safety of the town because of what Thalleous had said about the Voltaris returning had turned out to be true.

Senn was more concerned if the Guardians were going to let them pass. but no Guardian showed itself, and the bridge remained intact. the group rode over the stone bridge and as they rode off, the bridge submerged.

"Why don't the Guardians, like, do that judging thing they do when a new Ardonian comes along when someone leaves?" Senn asked.

"Because they know who you are by memories so they can allow you to pass without trouble. however, if a Voltaris was to come by, they'd try to drown them or deny access." Hubris said.

the trip was going to be long at a walking pass, but they needed to keep the horses paced so that if they need a quick escape, the horses can get away faster than being exhausted. the trip would now be a six days, Skyleap made the journey in 2 days, with rest. the poor mare was scared but was reluctant to go back for her master.

"Thalleous gave Skyleap to Athurilia for her 65th birthday as a foal, so they are about the same age in horse years." Galleous told Senn.

the group traded stories about Thalleous, sometimes Arthurilia, as her reputation for being similar to Thalleous was well known, rescuing young Ardonians and bringing them with her to Ataraxia for safety, even found babies and female Ardonians.
