"And here I thought he was already dead."

Ninelie's eyes shot wide open, and her voice quivered with a mix of surprise and curiosity, "You know Norman?"

Sonju's eyes reflected an air of sagacity, "Indeed," he began, his words dripping with casual wisdom, "We've only heard of him since every little kid was whining about him, and you."

'So that's why they knew my name.' Ninelie thought.

Her curiosity surged, prompting her to lean forward and press for more information. "Then, you've already met Ray, Emma, and the others?"

"Yes, many months ago," Mujika answered.

Ninelie felt compelled to extend an amiable gesture. A warm smile, expertly crafted to conceal her inner musings, graced her lips. "We've recently gotten in contact with them," she began, her tone a blend of pleasant surprise and camaraderie, "But I never knew they met you two."

Sonju, the wry humorist of the duo, seized the opportunity to interject with a touch of levity. "They were in the jaws of death when we first encountered them," he remarked with a mischievous glint in his eye, "it was quite memorable."

"And we decided to teach them how to survive out in the wild, as well as lead them out of the forest swarmed with traps and demon nests," Mujika recounted, her tone betraying the tenderness she held for these young souls. "I've heard about you from the children," she continued, her voice softening with emotion, "they said that they missed you so much."

Ninelie's eyes, once widened in surprise, now softened with emotion as her heart swelled with gratitude. The demons' words, like a soothing melody, were a balm for her soul. She expressed her heartfelt thanks with sincerity, her voice quivering with appreciation, and the burden on her shoulders seemed to lessen. She had made the choice to place her trust in Sonju and Mujika.

The burden that had weighed heavily on her during their daring escape was now lifting. She had once been consumed by fear and worry, not knowing what lay beyond the ominous forest. But now, with trust in the demons, her concerns transformed. She focused on regaining her strength, letting her injuries heal for three long days.

During her time of rest and recovery, Ninelie soaked in a wealth of knowledge and stories from Mujika. In the evenings, their conversations flowed effortlessly, transcending the bounds of time. The demon shared tales of the children's triumphs under their guidance, and Ninelie, rapt and eager, listened with enthusiasm. Every word she heard about her family filled her with anticipation, for it wouldn't be long before they would be reunited.
