Aiden's mind stops functioning when the small thump that had once been rhymic and constant dies away. He pushes Orion roughly into a chair that had been sitting there for him to stay still while he gave the blood Audrey needs. "Jace. Now."
His second in command switches from fretting over the cuts to pulling out needles strung from tubes that connect to a bag made for holding the blood and starts to poke them carefully into Audrey's veins while Marie takes the tubes that take the blood instead of transferring it and puts them not so carefully into the crease of Orion's elbow.
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! No one said anything about blood. You can't just steal my blood! The girl's dead anyway!" Orion yells attempting to stand but Aiden stands over him with a hand over his shoulder making sure to apply pressure -so Orion knew he wasn't kidding and not in the mood for jokes- not allowing him to stand for the hope it isn't too late for her to be healed by his ichor (immortal blood).
"Not yet. The blood keeps circulating 30 to 40 seconds after death." Jace says quickly as he starts the process Aiden had never taken a liking to or felt compelled to learn anything about. Thick, dark liquid flows from the wolf's arm into her wrist,"Marie." Jace addresses the blonde that looks too interested by the fluid flowing in the tubes. "Start CPR. Her heart can't manage this alone right now."
Marie starts with pressing rapidly down on Audrey's chest that had to be wrapped thicker because of all the cuts. Aiden could only hope she wasn't feeling any of this pain. If it was anything like what he was feeling at the moment then he'd almost rather her be at peace in death than to be alive and feeling half of what he was.
Audrey's heart starts again, at first faint and almost something of a tease, but then it got stronger and faster.
Aiden closes his eyes and lets out a breath he didn't need but one of relief all the same. Thank God.
"Great. The girl's alive and soon to be a daughter of the moon, you got what you needed from me. Now let me up!" Orion tries to make another stand, but Aiden holds him down.
"No." he says. "You have to stay until we know how Audrey's body reacts to your blood." Aiden explains and as he expected there was a loud protest.
"You can't keep me here!" Orion yells and thrashes around violently. "You said I had to own up to my favor. My favor's over. I'm no longer at your dispense, Your Majesty, so if you'll excuse me." Orion stands up Aiden having to allow it because his argument was valid.
Hayden makes an unexpected action that if it was another person or situation Aiden would have had to say something because of his usual beliefs of not gaining by force.
Hayden picked up the retreating man and easily slung him against the wall. "Listen Dog that girl happens to be a sister to all of us. So here is a debt for you." he snarls as he walks to Orion that sits on the floor holding his shoulder. "I won't kill you, if you help us fix her." To Orion that seemed like a pretty good exchange and he agreed to stay with a frown.
After of an hour of stable readings Jace says everyone should leave to give Audrey some space, but it was quickly clear Aiden was not leaving and no one pressed the matter. Aiden stopped Jace and told him that no one was to fight and that he if had to intervene the punishments would not be pleasant. He also mentioned Annie's contact with Orion was to be limited to as little as possible.
He had faith that Jace would maintain order while he was occupied with Audrey.
Aiden wished for nothing more than for her to wake up, but he decided that was to much to ask right this moment. So, he chose to wish he could hold her hand and rub his thumb over her skin that had always emitted so much heat. When ever he had done this she had shivered revealing she felt just as strongly about him as he did her.
