chapter sixty-four

MEETING SOMEONE NEW WAS ALWAYS AN ADVENTURE FOR CALLIOPE, HER FOCUS WAS ALWAYS SCATTERED, SO FILLED WITH NERVOUS ANTICIPATION, WAS SHE, SO EXCITED, EVEN GIDDY. There she stood in the lobby waiting for the American actor to arrive. To pass the time, she glanced around the large room, fine picking towards all the detail that surrounded her.

The floor was tiled in fine marble, which made every step echo. A chandelier made rainbow colors dance across the luxurious lobby. Embroidered silk sofas surrounded a large, flat-screen television. The twin doors that led into the lobby were a pristine white with golden handles. The desk was made of amber-colored wood and a green granite top. Exquisite paintings hung from the rich, red walls. Even the door hinges were engraved with swirls and elegant designs. The domed ceiling rose at least 100 feet high, causing her to gasp at the sight.

She clutched her camera back tightly, glancing down out her beat-up converse, she pulled out her phone from her back pocket, checking the clock for the hundredth time.

"Hey Calliope," a voice called out, frightening the girl. Calliope's phone slipped out of her fingers sending the device tumbling towards the ground. She clutched her heart in fear, turning around, her eyes meeting Timothée's instantly.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," he apologized, quickly bending down to pick up her phone to examine it briefly. His eyes winced at the large crack that made its way across the screen.

"I can buy you a new phone?" he suggested, handing it back towards the girl, she took it back, doing her one examination, before shoving it in her pocket.

"It's fine, really," she reassured. He nodded before shoving his hands into his own pockets. This was Calliope's chance to finally take him in. He was tall. Like really tall. He was wearing a simple jean jacket with a white tee and blue jeans.

She smiled, and held out her hand towards him, "Calliope."

He smirked before pulling the girl into a hug, which she didn't hesitate to return.

"Nice to meet you, want to get food?"
