LAST CHAPTER!

chapter ninety-one

THE PAIR DRUNKENLY STUMBLED INTO THE HOTEL LOBBY OF THE HOTEL THEY WERE STAYING AT. Holding onto each other, stumbling towards the elevator while drunken giggles slipped past their lips. Calliope's make up was now smudged, eyeliner looking blotchy. Tom's shirt was now unbuttoned slightly and untucked from the waist of his trousers.

"Spiderman! We made it!" Calliope hiccupped, just before she shushed herself loudly, "Wait, shh no one can know your secret identity," she whispered, placing her finger over her lips to silence herself.

Tom laughed before Calliope dragged him towards the elevator. Unlike the girl, Tom began to sober up a little, but still stumbled when he walked, feeling the effects of alcohol course through his veins.

Finally, stepping into the elevator shaft, Calliope presses their floor button, resting against the rail tiredly, glancing at the mirror that was plastered onto the ceiling.

Giggling at her reflection, she poked Tom in the cheek before glancing brushing her hair back over her shoulder.

"Do believe in love at first sight?" She questioned, staring at her reflection, and Tom glanced at her beautiful profile. He gulped quietly, looking down at her hand, inching his fingers closer and closer towards her own.

"Sometimes. I do find it quite amazing how a person who was once a stranger could suddenly mean the entire world to you," He answered quietly, placing his hand over hers.

She didn't hesitate to wrap her petite fingers around his own, holding them tightly as the elevator shaft continued to ascend.

Finally reaching the floor, the doors slowly opened before Calliope tripped out of the elevator, holding the wall to balance herself before she and Tom walked toward their rooms, which her down the hall.

The grip onto each other for support, fully feeling the effects of their alcoholic beverages. Reaching Calliope, Zendaya, and Donna's door, Calliope slowly and lazily grabs her key from her purse, trying to push it in the keyhole before it dropped on the floor.

She cursed under breath, watching as Tom chuckled, picking it up for her.

"I'm so stupid," she huffed, trying to get the card to activate itself in the door. She tried again, growing frustrated with the hotel door handle.

"You are far from stupid, Calla," Tom argued, watching as she turned around, smiling at his response.

"Oh, please tell me more," she joked, finally getting the door to open.

"Well, I think you are very beautiful and hilarious. Simply golden," he answered, watching as she held the door to her hotel room open. She slowly turned around and looked at Tom with endearing eyes. For Tom, he felt confident.

The liquid courage had played a part in his answer towards the girl, but he simply didn't care. It was the truth. She was the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. Her eyes, her skin, including the radiant smile that was always plastered on her lips. Her lips.

Without hesitation, he leaned in, kissing her softly. His hands found a way to her cheeks, rubbing her skin softly as he pressed his lips against hers.

Tom pulled away slowly, opening his eyes to meet an unreadable expression on Calliope's face. Her lips weren't holding the same golden smile from before, as they continued to stare at each other for a silent moment.

Calliope blinked quickly, turning away and shutting the door in Tom's face, making his heart drop inside his chest. Hearing the ring of the door slamming in his ears, his dejected feet slowly walked toward his room, the salty tears blurring his vision.
