CALLIOPE'S EYES WIDENED WHEN SHE SAW THE ICONIC MONUMENT THAT COMMEMORATES THE BATTLE OF PIAVE RIVER. She didn't hesitate to pull Tom's arm, pulling towards the edge of the gate, looking at him excitedly.
"Do you remember this part of the movie?" Calliope said eagerly, watching as Tom shook his head in embarrassment. She shrugged plainly before pointing towards the statue, "This is the part in the movie where Elio admits that he is romantically interested in Oliver."
Tom watches as she speaks with such passion, watching as her she smiled brightly talking about her favorite film. She walked around the gate, balancing gently on the stoned walkway, stepping carefully around the monument. She took in the scene around her, looking toward Tom who was holding up a small device in her hand.
He walked over, holding out a small disposable camera towards her, which peaked her interest.
"So you can capture the moment, we can get them developed when we go back to London," he explained, watching as she picked up the small camera from her to take pictures.
Her heart fluttered at the thought, she held the small device in her hand as Tom pulled out another small camera for himself, sheepishly avoiding her gaze. She smiled at his shyness and looked up towards a young couple that walked by, an idea sparked into her mind. Before Tom realized, the girl slipped from his side, walking up towards the young couple.
"Sorry, to bother you, do you mind taking our pictures really quick?" she asked, holding out the camera towards them. The young couple smiled, looking towards Tom and agreed walking closer towards the monument.
"Okay Tom, pretend you like me?" Calliope joked, wrapping an arm around his waist and stood close next to him, smiling brightly.
"What's not to like?" he replied smoothly, holding her waist gently, smiling as the young woman snapped a couple of pictures of the two.
Once they were finished, Calliope thanked her immensely before skipping over towards Tom, excitement flowing throughout her whole body.
