"johnny," jaehyun huffed while looking at the other,
who was playing a game on his phone.

he hummed, "hm? what is it hyun?" not looking away from the bright screen.
jaehyun blushed from the nickname.

"have you..." he paused, "come out to your parents yet?"

johnny froze. immediately, he switched off the device and laid it down on the bedside table.
the male turned and met eyes with his boyfriend.

"yeah. sort of."

"really? how did it go?"

he pursed his lips, bringing his hand up to brush the brunette's pretty hair. he thought back to the time he 'sort of'...
came out to his mother. it was around the time he had just met doyoung and was confused about his feelings for jaehyun.

"it was okay," johnny smiled sadly. "i remember crying a lot because i was so... so confused, you know?
my mum facetimed me one night and caught me..." he laughed a little, scanning his eyes down to jaehyun's soft hands.

"she asked... 'honey, what's the matter?'. 'mum, i think i like someone.' she was happy but sad, and confused at the same time.
'honey! that's splendid to hear... but what's made you so upset that you cry like this?'" johnny stopped for a moment, fluttering his eyes. jaehyun looked at him and frowned.

continuing the story,
"then i told her... 'but they're a boy'."

he held jaehyun's cold cheek with his heated hand and stroked it with his thumb.
the younger male could feel his heart pulsating. he felt comforted by both johnny's voice and his warmth.

"what did she say?"

"she said 'a person's a person. and i don't care who and what my son loves,
as long as he's happy.'" he smiled.

"your mum is so woke."

johnny chuckled and scooted closer to jaehyun. it felt good to talk to someone you love so deeply like this. the male never spoke about his coming out often, but it always made him so grateful remembering how his mother supported him nonetheless.

"maybe it's because we were in america for so long that she became more open-minded.
people here tend to be a little... conservative"

jaehyun nodded cutely, getting ahold of johnny's own hands that still remained on his face.

"what about you?"

the younger male looked down and mumbled,
"i haven't yet..."

"oh."

he frowned once again but johnny kissed his cheek,
making his face turn pink.

"don't worry. we all have our own paces."

"yeah," jaehyun smiled.
