Blind

Sometimes I wonder why you care.

Why do you stay with me?

You've always been here for me.

You've always been the one to chase after me when I leave.

When I get sad, you've been there to hold me.

You've stayed when I've been awful to you.

I've pushed you away and ignored you when I know you've just been trying to help me.

When I was crying alone, you came.

And you've never left.

I know you won't.

I trust you.

So I've been thinking.

And I've realised that I was there for you too.

When you said you were lonely, I went and I stayed with you.

I told you that you would never be alone because I would always be there with you.

You smiled and held me close.

I think sometimes we're blind to how important we are to others and the impact we have on others.

I always make it a point to say how I feel about the other person.

Am I too blunt sometimes?

Yeah, probably.

But the phrase, 'The saddest moment is when the person who means the most to you doesn't feel like you care' really struck a chord in me.

Because that's true.

If someone means a lot to you then you would want them to know.

So I say what I'm feeling.

I've told someone that they're my favourite person before.

It removes the problem of guessing how the other person feels.

And it makes the other person smile.

Something so simple, such as telling the truth about how you feel, can make someone feel like the most important person in the world.

And they are, they should be to you if that's how you feel about them.

Is it scary?

The first few times, sure.

But then you get used to it and it becomes a habit.

And for me, when I think about much the other person truly means to me, it becomes easy to tell them how I feel.

Don't let other people be blind to how you feel about them and don't be blind to your worth too. :)
