I gazed out the window of her bedroom.
I was perched on the edge of some girl's bed.
Her name is Maria, I think.
I rose as quietly as I could, pulled my jacket on, and started for the door.
Maria sat up and sleepily rubbed her eyes. "You aren't staying the night?"
"No," I replied. "I never do."
Her eyes lowered slightly. "Oh. I'll walk you to the door."
Maria awkwardly walked me to the door.
I stepped outside and paused. "Thanks for tonight."
Maria nodded, but her hand gripped the doorknob rather tight. "I'm not going to see you again, am I?"
I looked her in the eye. "Probably not. Bye."
I turned and walked away.

My phone buzzed.

😂I rubbed my eyes and started getting ready.
I arrived at Sophia's house and stayed in the car, waiting for her to come out.
Five minutes later she walked out and joined me in the car.
"Where to?"
Sophia shrugged, doing something on her phone. "Anywhere is fine."
"McDonald's?" I suggested.
Her nose wrinkled. "A little more high class, please. Burger King is better."
I laughed and drove to Burger King.
"Inside or out?" I asked her.
"Mmm. Today's your lucky day so you can go inside today." She winked at me while I rolled my eyes.
I parked and we went inside to order.
I leaned against the counter while I waited for the food.
