When I was younger I was foolish.
I was naive.
I wanted that Disney, fairytale romance.
As long as two people loved each other then that was all that mattered.
Or so I believed.
I met a guy once when I was walking to the store.
He was sitting on a bench crying.
I walked up and asked him what was wrong.
He turned to me with a shaky smile and told me, "Sometimes love isn't enough."
I walked away, pondering what he meant.
And now that I'm older, I know what he meant.
You can be madly in love with someone and both of you want to be with the other, but sometimes it's not meant to be.
Sometimes you have to know when to walk away even if it kills you.
Because sometimes staying is what kills you more.
I've changed a lot since I was younger.
Which I'm grateful for.
The world isn't roses and rainbows.
Love isn't always a happy fairytale.
Love isn't always enough.
