49: Blair's POV

Sarah had been a wreck when we finally went to see her but she somehow gathered the courage to go in and report him. She was stronger than I had been and part of me hated myself for it. If I had just told someone sooner he would've never had the chance to do this to her, to ruin her life the way he did mine. Sarah tried reassuring me that it wasn't my fault and that she had been with him long enough to deal with it on her own. I could see straight through that fake smile and confidence though considering I had done the same thing for so long.

Scott had disappeared and no one had heard from him in over a month despite him now being a wanted criminal for both assault and sexual assault. Sarah seemed genuinely terrified the longer he was missing and I couldn't say I blamed her. My dreams had turned to nightmares over the past month, worse nightmares than even when I was fourteen. Alice had woken me up numerous times claiming I was screaming but I usually just pretended to fall back asleep to avoid discussing it. I could tell my distance had been bothering her but I just hadn't been myself lately.

My board skated along below me as I made my way towards my apartment. The sky was bright blue and the warmth of today felt nice on my skin. I closed my eyes for a brief moment letting the moment distract my worried mind. Before I could open them a searing pain tore through me as I was launched into the air. I barely made out the sound of wood breaking but my vision was too blurred to even look around. I brought my hand to my head trying to get the ringing to stop but it was no use. As I brought my hand back down I could swear all I saw was red before a door opening and slamming shut came from behind me. I felt two arms wrap around me and I struggled to get them off of me despite how weak my body felt. Everything happened so fast, one moment I was just riding my skateboard and the next I woke up in the backseat of a vehicle I didn't recognize. The seats were leather, the windows darker than I believed to be legal, and as I looked forward I saw the one man who had haunted me for years, Scott.

~2 Weeks Ago~

"You okay Blair?" Ally asked as we walked towards statistics

I had been so lost in my own head that I hadn't even noticed her until now

I nodded half heartedly, smiling over at her "Yeah I'm good just a lot on my mind."

"Such as?" She questioned as we turned the corner coming into Alice's view

I couldn't help but smile back at Alice as I replied "Nothing important."

"You really like Ms. Winters huh?" She asked

My face was probably pale "I mean she's my favorite teacher."

"Mhm sure." She whispered low enough for only me to hear

"Good afternoon girls." Alice smiled as we got closer

~3 Weeks Earlier~

"Do you like red or white wine more?" Alice questioned as we drove towards the store

I shrugged "Either but if I had to choose probably red."

"Are you okay babe?" She questioned looking over at me, concern clear in her face

I nodded "Yeah I'm fine,"

"Okay." She smiled weakly "How does a bottle of red cat sound?"

"Sounds good to me." I replied trying to sell my fake smile better than the last

She didn't seem to buy it judging by the look on her face, Alice had always been able to see right through me. I had been down today, more down than usual which is saying something. I knew it bothered her to not be able to help but realistically there's nothing she can do.

~1 Week Ago~

I had been over to see Sarah everyday since we got back from our trip, today was the first time she'd actually changed her clothes which seemed like progress. She was still in her normal spot on the couch, glass of wine in hand. I was worried about her, no one knew better than me what she was going through.

"Don't look so down you're killing my mood." Sarah joked before taking a sip of her wine

I laughed softly "My apologies."

"How have you been doing with everything?" She asked looking over at me

I looked down "Not great honestly, I'm worried about everything."

"Hey you've got more important things to worry about, senior trip, prom, finals, not to mention graduation." She smiled trying to brighten the mood a bit

I chuckled, realizing I had barely given any of them much thought "I guess, I just can't get myself to focus on senior shit when there's more important things going on."

"It's over now Blair, it's okay to let it go." She said placing a hand on my shoulder

I smiled back at her trying not to let her see through the face I had been putting on for everyone "Yeah I guess you're right."

~Present~

My hands were zip tied behind my back judging by the hard plastic that was digging into my wrists. I could feel my heart rate accelerating as I realized my phone was missing from my pocket. Everything around me still seemed to be spinning slightly, my ears still ringing as they had earlier.

"You're up." Scott stated looking at me in the rear view mirror

I nodded but looked down at the ground to avoid his gaze.

"Look at me." He stayed coldly causing me to slowly pick my head up "You ruined my fucking life Blair, I told you to keep your fucking mouth shut but no, you couldn't even follow one simple instruction."

"I'm sorry." I mumbled out lowly

"You will be." He grumbled before hitting the steering wheel hard with his fist, causing me to jump and my hands to shake "I have nothing, no job, no wife, no house, no money, absolutely nothing because of you. Sarah would've never even known if it wasn't for you."

"You raped her." I stated coldly unable to hold my tongue any longer

He slammed on the breaks causing me to slam into the seat in front of me and then onto the floor. I could hear him saying something but couldn't quite make it out as the darkness took over once again.
