It was well past five by the time I had finally gotten home and Blair was still nowhere to be seen. Knowing she had to run to her apartment first I had drove over to find the place completely empty. It wasn't like her to just disappear, let alone not contact me in any way about it. I had called and texted more times than I could count at this point and as seven rolled around I knew something was wrong. I had arrived at Sarah's without even really thinking it through fully and was knocking on her door before I had even processed what I was doing fully.

When she answered, her face fell slightly in confusion "Hi Alice, is everything alright?"

"Have you heard from Blair?" I stuttered out unable to get a grip on my nerves

She shook her head "No, is everything okay?"

"Well, I don't want to worry you but she was supposed to meet me after school and I still haven't heard from her. She's not at her apartment and she's not answering any of my calls." The words fell out faster than I could even process

Her eyes went wide "Fuck, we need to go to the police."

"What why?" I asked following her towards the driveway

"No time, whose car?" She asked looking back at me

I paused for a moment "Mine."

We got in and I pulled out of the driveway quicker than I had the first time I had been here.

As we made our way down the road Sarah spoke up breaking the silence "I think Scott has her."

"Why do you think that?" I questioned, my mind in a haze

She looked out the window "He texted me a few hours ago, all he said was I hope it was worth it, let's see how you like having everything taken from you."

"Why didn't you tell the police?" I asked shocked that she hadn't mentioned this to anyone sooner

She sighed "I was scared."

~3 Hours Later~

Everything was a blur, the police took everything extremely serious as we explained the situation. I was grateful that they didn't try and convince us it was something else because not even an hour later they had the first reported spotting. Scott had taken her almost an hour away, they had the plate number as well as a description of the vehicle but no more leads since then. I was told to go get some rest but I couldn't bear the thought of going home until I knew Blair was safe.

"Coffee?" A young officer questioned holding out a styrofoam cup

I smiled up at him "Yes, thank you."

I took the cup and sipped the heavenly liquid, almost allowing myself to forget everything for just a mere second. The thought that the police would connect the dots about me being her teacher hadn't even crossed my mind until after we had already given them all of the information. At this point I didn't care if I got fired or if I never found a teaching job again, I just wanted them to find Blair.

"You seem stressed." The young man commented as he sat in the chair next to me

He couldn't be any older than me with his baby face and dirty blonde hair cut short enough to keep it out of his brown eyes.

I nodded taking another sip before looking over at him "My girlfriend got kidnapped."

"Blair?" He questioned giving me a sympathetic look as I nodded "Don't worry miss, we're doing everything we can to find her."

"What if you don't?" I asked unable to look at him any longer

He sighed placing a hand on my shoulder "I promise that we will do everything we can, I'm not allowed to promise we'll find her but I have a good feeling about this case. I've been looking through the file all month on Scott and he doesn't seem like the brightest guy. He's bound to mess up and when he does we'll be there to catch him."

I nodded "Thank you so much officer..."

"Porter." He nodded with a smile "You should get some rest miss, go home and sleep."

I shook my head "I can't, I won't sleep even if I do go home."

"Alright, help yourself to some more coffee and if you need anything else just find me." He said as he stood up

I smiled up at him "Thank you so much for everything you're doing to help us."

"No problem miss, it is my job after all." He replied with a nod before heading into one of the offices

Sarah came around the corner holding a bag of McDonald's and my heart constricted at the sight. Everything reminded me of her the way it had when we broke up, everything reminded me that she wasn't here.

"Hey." Sarah greeted me as she sat next to me

I smiled slightly "Hi."

"I never had a chance to thank you for being honest with the police, I know it was hard. I promise I will do anything I can to help you if it comes back on you. I know more now than ever how much you love my daughter and I can't say enough how happy I am that she chose you." Sarah said as she pulled the food out of the bag handing me a hamburger "They're going to find her, they have to."

Sarah had cried even more than I had over the three hours we'd been here so far. It was evident due to our red eyes and tear stained cheeks to anyone who looked at us that we had been balling our eyes out. Her words were touching, and for a brief moment the hope that was starting to fade returned.

"Thank you Sarah, I'm so glad you're here with me. You've been supportive of us when no one else was and I'll never forget it." I paused sighing as I looked down "I really hope you're right, I don't know what I would do without her. I love her more than anything, she's the most amazing person I've met in my entire life."

"She's a smart girl Alice, you know that. She's the strongest girl her age I've ever met and I know she won't go down without a fight. She loves you so much more than you even know and she'd do anything to get back to you. Don't lose hope though, we have to try and stay positive no matter how grim the situation." Sarah stated, her eyes watery and threatening to turn to tears again for the hundredth time tonight
