Sawamura Daichi was in any sense of the word the perfect boyfriend, although they had only been dating for a month, she was by far the happiest she had ever been with someone. Even before they had started dating they had been inseparable, they had met during first year and been in the same classes ever since. So when they had started dating not much had changed, even their friends didn't realize it.

They had both agreed it was easier to keep things quiet about their relationship since it was really nobodies business. It was the beginning stages of a romantic relationship so everything was awkward at first before they had gotten in the groove for the most part. It was to the point that it took them more or less two weeks for them to be able to kiss each other on the cheek and not become flustered messes. Cuddling had been a definite change since they were both used to sitting on the opposite sides of the couch rather relaxed.

The first time they had actually tried to watch a movie together while together they had kept glancing at each other, hoping the other would make the first move. The movie was almost over by the time they had been comfortable sitting next to each other awkwardly holding hands. As the credits rolled they had glanced at each other before breaking into a fit of laughter. It had been a bigger adjustment than they expected once they had started dating, it's as if they were in middle school all over again. Trying to navigate how to even sit next to one another when they had discovered what a crush acted on was even like.

In most aspects of their blooming relationship, they had started to figure everything with lots of talking and laughter. They both knew if it wasn't with someone they had already known for almost three years and knew almost everything about each other it would be a much slower process. However, the one thing she had craved the most since the shift of the meaning of their relationship was to kiss him.

Since confessing their feelings for each other and figuring out the new relationship they hadn't actually kissed yet. Safe to say it was slowly killing her, she didn't bother to tell Daichi about her small concern since he didn't seem to be all that bothered by it. He would always say it would happen naturally and that it's better left for when they can cuddle and not stiffen up when the other comes closer.

It bothered her more that it didn't seem to bother the captain, they had both been in relationships in the past so she knew it wasn't his first kiss or anything. Her thoughts were interrupted by shouts and the squeaking of shoes, even before they were dating it was normal for her to sit in on their practices so that she could walk home with the third-year boys.

"Hey [l/n]-senpai!" she looked over to find the two second years that seemed to praise any girl that was even remotely connected to the volleyball team. She gave them a smile, making the duo blush and start to jump around.

"You shouldn't encourage them you know" she wasn't even aware of the sudden presence of her boyfriend, she turned her head, her smile turning into more of a smirk. She leaned closer so that those around them couldn't hear her.

"Is someone jealous, Sawamura?" Her stomach did a flip at the sight of a blush forming on his face, it always gave her a sense of pride knowing she was one of the only ones able to make the scary captain so flustered. Before he could utter out a no doubt stumbled response, the doors had been slammed open revealing their coach, Ukai.

He had called them to sit down, [y/n] saw it as her cue to join Kiyoko and Yachi. "You know, [y/n]-san if I didn't know any better I'd say you have a crush on our captain" she jerked her head towards Kiyoko, surprised at the outright claim. It was now her turn to become flustered, although it was reassuring that even Kiyoko was unaware of the pair's relationship; it gave her a twinge of guilt that she couldn't tell one of her close friends.

"Even if I did, it would be weird," She had decided to play it safe in order to grasp Kiyoko's opinion on the subject. She merely met her [e/c] orbs, urging her to explain further. [y/n] looked around to make sure nobody was listening in, she found Yachi next to her who was trying her best to look normal. She tapped Yachi on the shoulder making her almost jump out of her seat. "You can join our conversation, you're a part of the group," the simple confirmation made the first year become red before nodding.

"All I mean is if we started dating wouldn't it attract a lot of attention," she took a breath, looking down at her hands in her lap. "Plus two of your friends start dating, I mean wouldn't that be selfish?" The two other girls were silent, making her look up to see both of them smiling rather sweetly making her give them a questioning look.

"Are you kidding? That's what's stopped you from making your move?!" The sudden question sounding like more of a statement caught her off guard, especially from Kiyoko it felt rather out of character.

"I think I speak for everyone in saying that we've all been waiting for you two to get together," the add on from Yachi making the third year blush continue to worsen. "I mean the obvious flirting is getting ridiculous, [l/n]-senpai!" the other girls had winced, as she had spoken rather too loudly causing the attention to fall on the three girls.

"Sorry for the interruption! Please ignore us!" [y/n] gave an awkward smile as she waved her arms. Since minutes before they had wrapped up their meeting and were all warming up and the factor that it was rare to see their upperclassmen to become so red. One could say it intrigued the boys more.

"Ooh [l/n]-senpai? Flirting with someone?" The obvious nag from Tsukishima was expected, she glared at him only making his features become more amused.

"Is it me [l/n]-senpai! Are you head over heels for me!" Noya yelled excitedly, making those around them laugh, while Ennoshita slapped him on the back. Even with all the teasing, she was just grateful that their captain was talking with their coach far away, she glanced in his direction noticing that their conversation seemed uninterrupted by the rest of the team.

"Guys quit it, or Daichi will get mad," she blew out a breath grateful that Suga had noticed her obvious discomfort. The boys, however, merely ignored him as they continued to crack jokes, not even looking in her direction anymore.

"Why aren't you guys warming up?" the room fell silent as the sound of their captain's voice reached their ears, she had turned to follow their stares to find him behind her.

"We were teasing [l/n]-senpai about her crush!" Before anyone could stop him Hinata had opened his mouth, the atmosphere had started to feel tense, she whipped her head around not wanting to face the aura surrounding the captain so head-on.

She saw Kageyama slap Hinata on the head before yelling how he was a"Boke!" She noticed how the boys were trying to act as if nothing had happened, most of them scrambling away to work on their skills, as a way to avoid their captain's wrath, fully aware of the crush the captain had on her. Even the most oblivious of the team seemed to figure it out, of course after the others had to spell it out for them. With that they had continued practice, trying to avoid making their captain any madder. He hadn't talked to her for the rest of the practice even as they all had begun to clean up.

As she waited by the door talking with Kiyoko and Yachi, she couldn't help but notice his small glances in her direction as he cleaned with the others. She knew he wasn't mad at her but he didn't seem exactly thrilled at the moment.

The girls had both been called away by the team to help with something leaving her alone. She barely noticed him until he was almost right beside her, as soon as he saw him her mouth spread into a smile. It made him realize that he just couldn't keep her a secret anymore, not when she'd look at him like that.

Before he could stop himself he had wrapped his arms around her waist as he leaned in for a kiss. She eagerly wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed back once she realized that her wish had become a reality. They pulled away with smiles on both of their faces, "how have I waited a month to kiss my beautiful girlfriend?" she merely laughed at his cheesy remark.

They both turned worriedly as they heard a crash, they were met with a mixture of faces, but a mutual sense of joy. "Oh my god finally!" The clear statement from Suga made everyone burst into laughter.

"Wait you guys have been dating for a month and didn't tell us?!"
