"Some nights I wish I could go back in life, not to change shit just to feel a couple things twice" -Drake
The next morning i'm up at 5 am, showered and cleaned.
I throw on some loose shorts and an old sweatshirt that belonged to my dad, I try to be as quiet as possible as I exit the house and begin walking to the beach.
Bayshore's sunrises and sunsets are infamous, the way the orange and reds melt together as the sun makes it's daily appearance, and the way the blues and purples light up the evening sky as the sun goes to sleep. the best is when there are a few scattered clouds, it's even more beautiful.
Is it just me or do the rainy cloudy days always end with the most beautiful sunsets...
The walk is a little long since Forest Valley is a little far from Rivera Acres where the beach is located, 20 minutes later i'm on the edge of the beach.
As I walk down the familiar streets I remember all the memories I made here. Riding my bike and falling off my bike, playing with Kiara and Aaron for hours on end, picnics with my mom at the park.
I wish I could go back, god I wish I could just feel all of it all over again.
Even for a moment.
The freeness of being a child, careless and happy with not a damn worry in the world.
All I wanted to do was grow up, if only I knew growing up would mean not having my parents with me...
I take off my flip flops as I reach the sand of the public part of the beach, my old house is about 2 miles from this point.
I see a single figure sitting on one of the picnic tables in the sand I walk towards the table beside it, as I get closer I realize the figure is someone familiar .
It's Atlas
I approach him and he turns to me, the early morning light illuminates his handsome face and he gives me a slight smile.
he seems sad.
"Mind if I join you?" I ask quietly afraid of how my morning voice sounds. "No I don't mind." he replies and returns his gaze to the ocean.
We both sit in silence as I see the sun begin to peak over the horizon .
"Did you miss it?" He asks while still looking forward. "Yes, I probably missed this the most there's nothing in the world like a Bayshore sunrise."
He doesn't answer so I continue speaking.
"When I was younger my mom would wake me up every morning on my birthday to see the sunrise, she would make my favourite breakfast and my dad would bring blankets and pillows and we would all cuddle on the beach and watch the sun come up, we lived right down the block from here." I finish my story and notice a small smile playing at his lips.
