Once again, the pitch black darkness consumed me. My parent's bedroom, covered in blood and - Hercules? Why did my teddy bear lie in the middle of the crime scene?
I heard a distant giggle and someone walking down the hallway.
Everything had an eerie atmosphere, still I felt tempted to follow the voice I heard.
In the hallway I saw a figure vanish behind a corner, the silhouette reminded me of Lissa.
I followed her through the whole castle and she led me into the cellar.
I tried to switch on the lights, but they seemed to be broken.
Then suddenly all the lights went on to reveal three chopped off heads.
And when I turned around to run away, a woman with a distorted face laughed at me.

I awoke, slightly breathless. My panic increased when I couldn't move my left arm, it felt stuck. With my right hand I tried to figure out what it was, that my arm was stuck in, when I touched something soft, that mumbled in its sleep, right, I had forgotten, that I shared my bed with Lissa, she seemed to be hugging my arm.
'What a weird dream to have,' I thought to myself, before drifting back to sleep.

"Do something," Lissa said, before taking another bite of her apple.
We were sitting in the garden, I was reading, she had been staring into space.
"Like what?"
"I dunno. I'm bored."
"Okay, what do you want to do?"
"I dunno. You want to marry me. Try to win my heart. Impress me."
I stared at her with wide eyes.
"What makes you think that I want to win your heart?"
"So, you don't?"
"Stop messing with my head!"
"Or heart?"
I gripped my hair.
"Okay, I'll think of something. Just give me a moment so I can finish this chapter."
But before I could go on reading, she had taken the book away from me and ran across the meadow, screaming "Catch me, if you can!"
I bit my lip and looked up to the sky for a moment. I couldn't even remember the last time I had been playing a silly game like that, I always thought it wasn't worth it anyways.
"Fuck it," I mumbled to myself and got up to run after her.
I caught up with her quite fast and tackled her to the ground, still she refused to let go of my book. She held it far away with one hand and I was so focused on reaching it, that I was barely aware of the fact I was lying on top of her, when suddenly she let my book fall and put her arms around me.
I felt electrified, more than that, like every fiber of my body was made of pure electricity.

All I could do, was stare at her in a daze.
At her water blue eyes, honey curls, sweet pouty lips and she had freckles, which I hadn't noticed until now.
With one finger I started to lightly trace the freckles on her skin.
She gave me an irritated look.
"What? Do I have something on my face?"
I looked at her like I saw her for the first time, something within me had changed completely.
I shook my head no.
"No, I just think it's really cute that you have freckles, it's a bit like a star constellation in a universe, just that the universe is you." I couldn't help, but be awfully romantic. I didn't know what was wrong with me. Usually I was just a rational, pessimistic realist and now I couldn't stop the words from escaping my mouth. I slightly blushed.
Lissa scrunched up her nose.
"A bit cheesy, don't you think?"
I was about to put my hand over my eyes, because of the embarassment, but before I could do so, Lissa tugged on the collar of my dress to pull me closer and planted a soft kiss on my cheek.

It felt like the time stood still for a moment and all I could concentrate on, was her sweet aroma, how her hair tickled my nose and her lips - oh God, her lips were so soft that they felt inhuman, heavenly almost.
There it was again, that lightheaded feeling, I was a mess, I might have been collected and calm all this time, but she had turned me into a mess and I didn't mind.

All of that only lasted a few seconds, until she playfully pushed me away and got up.
"I'd really like some cake now," she stated.

"Oh God thish ish sho good," Lissa mumbled with her mouth full of cake.
"Ew, you're not supposed to talk with a full mouth."
She rolled her eyes.
"Some rules are only made to be broken."
I gave her a grossed out look.
"Yea, but not this one,"
I put my hand over her mouth, but that only led to her licking my hand.
"Ew, Lissa, ugh, that's disgusting," I looked through the room, until I found the disinfectant, I practically bathed my hand in it.
"Calm down, it's just saliva, my saliva to be precise. We're almost married now, so that's only the beginning."
I stared at her bewildered.
She burst into laughter.
"That was a joke - well, partly."
"Oh shut up, you're awful, awful and childish."
"That's a really weird way of saying I'm refreshing and adventurous."
I shook my head at her.
"Are you done eating cake now?"
"No! Well, yes, why? Maybe?"
"Because I planned something for us to do this evening."
"In that case, I'm done with the cake."
Lissa smiled.
"What is it? What are we doing?"
I gave her a smug look.
"Sorry, I can't tell you, it's a surprise."
She started pouting.
"Come on, we should go."
With that being said, I picked her up and started walking towards the entrance.
"Put me down!" She started squirming in my arms.
After a while I decided to let her down again, because carrying her and a picnic basket, was rather difficult.

She eyed the picnic basket.
"So, we're having a picnic," she stated.
I looked at her with fake surprise.
"No, really? What gave you that impression."
"That's really cliché." She kicked away a stone, while walking.
This girl seemed to love testing my patience and my nerves.
"That it's cliché doesn't mean it can't be beautiful, " I said through gritted teeth.
"If you say so..." Her undertone was once again somewhat challenging.

The walk through the forest had mostly been silent, as Lissa seemed to be deep in thought and I didn't want to interrupt her.
The sun was already beginning to set and I noticed once again how much I enjoyed the melancholically beautiful atmosphere of dusk and how everything seemed to be coated in gold.
Finally we reached the lake.
Since my childhood I loved going to that place, because it looked so mythical, a bit like one had stumbled into a fairytale.
"Do you often take people here?" Lissa asked.
"No, you're the first," I answered truthfully.
"If we were in a movie, I'd have to say now, that this place is beautiful and like nothing I've ever seen before," Lissa stated.
I wiped my hand across my face. This girl drove me crazy.
"And since we're not in a movie, what do you say?"
"It's nice."
"Nice?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yea, it's okay."
I shook my head at her.
For a moment she looked thoughtful, then she said: "How about we go skinny dipping?"
"What?! Are you serious?"
Suddenly I felt very insecure.
"Why are you too shy?" She asked teasingly.
I took a big breath of air and slowly breathed out, before answering.

"It's just that, I've never been this naked in front of anyone before, and I don't mean physically. You've already seen more of me than most and now undressing in front of you creates some sort of parallelism I'm utterly scared of."
"Shhh" She silenced me by placing a finger on my lips.
"The way you talk like a poet makes me weak in the knees," then she continued:
"I haven't seen your soul yet, but if I do, I'll make sure to kiss every spot, especially the dark and twisted corners."
I was left speechless, no one had ever talked to me like that and no one had ever understood me like that, I didn't know who this girl was, but to me, she resembled an angel, a slightly twisted one 'though.
