Author's Note: I had a writer's block and doubts and so on, but I won't give up on this story, because it's become really important to me. So here's a new part. And I hope you're doing okay. Take care 💕

My senses were slightly numbed by the absinthe, but at the same time I felt full of adrenaline. Lissa was all I could see and I wanted her, here and now. While kissing, I tried to undo her corset, but she held me back and looked deeply into my eyes.
"Please, Marie, not now."
"But why? You feel the same, don't you?"
"Yes, sure I do, but I can't do this now, I want it to be a beautiful and precious thing between us, but right now my mother keeps on invading my thoughts. I wouldn't be able to enjoy it."
"It's okay, I understand."
I hugged her tightly.
After a while she said:
"Will you let me go again or are we gonna stand like this forever?"
I couldn't help but grin.
"Forever. What a nice expression. Hm, if you let me choose, we're just gonna be like this forever until we decay."
"How romantic, but I have needs, you know."
"Oh you have needs, really?"
"Yes, right now, I'm starving. And if I don't get something to eat, I'll just eat you."
I looked at her with a raised brow.
"You know this has a double meaning."
Lissa blushed.
"It only has a double meaning, if you have a dirty mind, now let's get us something to eat."
I gave her an amused look.
"You know, we actually have people who do that for us."
"Right, y-you confuse me and you're spoiled!"
"I wouldn't put it that way, I'm not spoiled, just royal."
Lissa huffed in annoyance.
"Well, I'm royal too and I can do things myself."
I laughed.
"I think you haven't understood the whole royal thing yet, but it's okay I can teach you."
"You piss me off when you try to provoke me like that."
I traced my thumb over her bottom lip.
"And you're really sweet when you're a bit angry."
Then she bit my finger.
"Fuck, Lissa, what the hell!"
She crossed her arms with a smug expression.
"I said I'm hungry."

I stretched myself and yawned. The sun flooded the whole room. I looked at my alarm clock it was already 12 pm. But after what happened it was no wonder we had slept so long. Lissa was still fast asleep. She had put her arms around me and I could only smile at her peaceful expression.
"Marie," she mumbled in her sleep. It was really cute.
Her mumbling got a bit louder and desperate.
"It's okay, I'm here, you're just dreaming."
Suddenly she screamed my name and awoke wide eyed in my bed.
"Oh God, you're there", she said and hugged me tightly.
"What's wrong? What did you dream?" I asked while caressing her hair.
"It was awful, I dreamt that someone killed you," she started sobbing.
"Hey, it's okay, it was just a nightmare. You've been through a lot."
She faced me and kissed my cheek before hugging me again.
"You're right, I guess. It just felt so real."
"Maybe it's my room or something. Maybe I should get me a dreamcatcher."
Lissa looked at me with surprise.
"You actually believe in that?"
I shrugged my shoulders.
"Dunno, but maybe it'll do some good."

"What if I want to move?" I asked.
"Then it doesn't matter, you can't move now."
"And when can I move again?"
"When I've taken a photo."
I rolled my eyes.
We were in the garden, while I was busy reading, Lissa had been picking flowers and placed them all around me.
"Smile," she said.
"You know I won't-"
She pecked me on the lips and I blushed slightly.
Then I heard the click of the polaroid camera.
"Nice, it's way cuter like that," she said.
"I swear, you're killing me."
"I beg your pardon, I swear that was never my intention." She smiled, but then she became serious.
"Speaking of killing you, can you fight?"
I blinked at her in surprise.
"You mean like actually fight?"
She nodded.
"No. I mean, I'm a princess, I have people who do the fighting for me."
She rolled her eyes.
"What I'm trying to say, is that it might not be enough, Marie. I know my mother, she's relentless and whenever it is that she'll attack, I know that it'll be without mercy and I think it'd be good if you knew how to defend yourself."
She probably had a point.
"But you're a princess too. What about you?"
Lissa smirked.
"I might not know how to dance, but I surely know how to fight."
"But how?"
"Well, my upbringing was rather unusual, my dad did most of it, so I'm not your typical princess."
"I see."
I thought for a moment.
"How about you teach me fighting then?"
"You really want that?" Lissa grinned.
"Yes, why wouldn't I?"
"Because you might end up really frustrated."
"What do you mean?"
"What I mean is, that I trained with the knights of my kingdom when I was bored and I won every match, except for one."
I looked at her in disbelief. Then I started laughing. Lissa - a sweet princess who was 4''11 wanted to tell me she fought against knights, I couldn't possibly imagine that.
Before I could stop laughing, I fell to the ground and Lissa held my arms behind my back. It happened so fast I couldn't even register how it had happened.
"The first rule you need to learn is to never underestimate your opponent."
"Okay, I got it, can you please let me go now?".
"Sure." She smiled at me sweetly.
"So do you still want me to teach you?"
I got up again.
"Yes." I said with determination.
"Okay. I'll try not to have mercy on you."
"What does that mean?" I asked in confusion.
"It means I'll try my best to teach you."

After fighting with Lissa, I knew what she meant. My whole body was aching and I had lots of bruises.
"You're not bad for a spoiled princess." Lissa said.
"Thanks, I guess."
One of the servants took a look at my wounds and bruises and bandaged some while Lissa watched with a glum expression.
"I'm sorry," she said.
"What for?"
"For beating you up like that."
I shook my head.
"Don't be sorry, it's okay. If you go easy on me, I fear I won't stand a chance in the upcoming battle."
