Marie's POV
"The Virgin Suicides" was written in a dreamlike way, it danced on the line of surreality and I liked it immediately. After I had finished "Call Me By Your Name", it seemed like a good choice, as Lissa's favourite movie was based on the novel.
Speaking of Lissa, I started to worry about her. She had been gone for two hours and for some inexplicable reason I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach, so I decided to go look after her.I asked some of the servants if they had seen her, but no one had, so I went to Vanessa's room to ask her. But my aunt wasn't there, actually I wanted to go again, but I heard music coming from the bathroom. My curiosity got the best of me, so without thinking I opened the door to see an image, that I would never forget again. The whole room was full of candles and Therese and Vanessa were naked in the bathtub, kissing each other. Before anyone could react, I closed the door as fast as I had opened it.
For a moment I just stood there.
"Come on, it's just two women making out in a bathtub, no big deal," I mumbled to myself.
But it was a big deal, I mean it was my aunt, it felt gross, because she was like a parent to me - a weird, hysteric kind of parent that sometimes behaved like a teenager, but still no child wants to even just think of their parents doing something like that.
However I did my best to block this image out of my brain and made a mental note to always knock before entering from now on.Then I went outside to look for Lissa.
I followed the path into the forest for a bit after a while of walking, I saw her lying motionless on the ground. Automatically I assumed the worst, so I ran towards her and the first thing I did, was check for her pulse, which was existent luckily, but she was still unconscious nonetheless.
"Lissa!" I shook her slightly.
"Please, wake up! Can you hear me?!"
I shook her again and slowly she opened her eyes.
"You have to kiss me, you fool," she mumbled with a weak voice. "Have you not read fairytales."
"This is not the right moment for jokes Lissa, you got unconscious and your head is bleeding."
"You're cute, when you're worried," she said and giggled, about to close her eyes.
"Don't get unconscious again! You hear me, don't do it!" I screamed at her to get her attention.
"Don't shout. What if the panther hears you and comes back?"
"What panther?" I asked confused.
"A black panther with turquoise eyes."
"Look, you hit your head, you probably just dreamt it. I'll try to lift you up now and carry you to the castle, okay?"
Lissa looked at me with a dreamy expression and I wasn't sure if she understood what I had said.
"When I'm with you I'm safe, the world is okay. You make the bad go away. I think, no, I know, that I love you, Marie." She said and drifted back into unconsciousness.
For a moment it felt like my whole world stood still, then I shook my head, I had to collect myself and get her back to the castle. So I picked her up as carefully as I could to carry her.Once we reached the castle, I informed Malice to get our personal nurse to look after Lissa. While she got the nurse I took Lissa to my bedroom and layed her down with care.
With one finger I brushed the hair out of her face.
"Don't shock me like that, Lis, you're the most important person in my life."The nurse entered.
"Oh dear, that doesn't look good," she said.
"What does that mean, it doesn't look good?" I asked, unable to hide the desperation in my voice.
"Well it means that it doesn't look good, but I've seen worse," she simply stated.
"Thanks for the clarification, that was very helpful," I answered dryly.
"I'll clean the wound now and bandage her head, but she surely needs a lot of bed rest."
"Okay," I mumbled, while I played with Lissa's hand.
Before the nurse left, she gave me a warning look. "Remember - bed rest!" She said in a strict tone.
"Yea, I got it." I rolled my eyes.I continued reading "The Virgin Suicides", when I was interrupted by Lissa's voice.
"Marie."
I almost let my book fall at the sudden sound of her voice.
"You're awake!" I exclaimed and went over to sit on the bed, next to her.
"Yes, even without kiss," she said.
"Yes, right."
"That was a hint, that I want you to kiss me, Rémont."
I blinked at her a few times, she had just woken up, but managed to make me nervous again already.
"And rather now, than later," she continued.
Softly I caressed her cheek, before kissing her shortly.
"A real kiss," she said.
"A bit demanding, are you?"
"Only a bit." She smiled and cupped my face to connect her lips with mine and I felt electrified again. Lightly she bit my bottom lip before entering my mouth with her tongue. I didn't know where all this passion came from, but the way she kissed me, described the epitome of lust and I couldn't focus on anything but her.
She stopped for a moment.
"So I'm the most important person in your life, yea?" She grinned.
"You heard that?"
"Yes, I heard your voice while I was unconscious."
"Do you still remember what you said to me in the forest?" I asked and started biting on my nails.
"Are you nervous?"
"No! What makes you think that?"
"You're biting your nails."
"Uh, right." I stopped abruptly. "But do you remember?"
Lissa slowly shook her head.
"No, why? Does it matter?"
"Uhm no, not really, it's not that important."
"Not that important, but you're all nervous about it, that's telling. So what did I say, was it something interesting?"
"You really don't remember?"
"No, sorry."
"Well, you said that you loved me."
"Oh," was all that she said.
"Is that all you have to say about it?"
Her serious expression turned into a cheeky one as she answered:
"Well, you see, madame, I fear I wasn't myself, as I hit my head on a stone."
I stared at her with an open mouth.
"I'm just messing with you, Marie. I do remember what I said and I meant it."
"You little beast," was all I could say.
"Sorry I couldn't help it, you're just too cute when you're nervous."
I didn't want to, but I blushed anways.
"That's what I mean. I like it when you get so flustered."
Before I could say something, she pulled me closer by the collar of my dress to kiss me again. With the way she kissed me, she turned me into a whimpering mess of lust. I had reached a point where I just wanted to let her do with me whatever she wanted to do with me.
Then she broke the kiss.
"I want to have sex with you, Marie."
