Chapter 3

Hazel

We walked out of Mr. Bartholomew's office in Silence.

After a few minutes, Ivy asked
"Do you think we can trust Mr. Bartholomew?"

"Trust Count Dracula?" Said Scarlet, making Thalia crack up, Ivy, Reyna and Annabeth smile and leaving the rest of us trying not to laugh, which kind of failed.

"At least he's not Miss. Fox" said Ivy.

Annabeth nodded "Maybe he'll tell everyone what happened last time you were here."

"He'll have to won't he?" I said "People will be pretty suspicious when there's suddenly 2 Scarlets, with no explanation".

We had just gotten to the top of a flight of stairs, when a small mousy girl practically tackled Ivy onto the carpet.

"Ariadne!" said Ivy.

"Hello" she said. She noticed Scarlet was there.
"Scarlet! You found her! You did it!"

Ivy got up from the ground, smiling.
"We did it".

"Who is this?" Said Scarlet, in a loud whisper. 

Ivy introduced Scarlet to Ariadne. Ariadne looked very cheerful. Scarlet didn't look so happy.

"Nice to meet you!" Said Ariadne. "I'm Ariadne, like in 'Theseus and the Minotaur'.

"Who and the what?" Scarlet said rudely.

"Theseus and the Minotaur" said Annabeth. "Ariadne helped Theseus through the Labyrinth. Theseus later left her on an island called Naxos".

Ariadne turned to us.
"Oh hello! Who are you?" She said, brightly

We each introduced ourselves.

"I'm Ariadne, like in 'Theseus and the Minotaur' " Ariadne repeated.

"Nice name" said Thalia

"Ariadne was your roommate while at Rookwood before right Ivy?" Said Annabeth.

Ivy nodded.

"What's the room situation going to be like now that Scarlet's back?"

"Mrs. Knight didn't really specify the room situation" said Ivy. "nor did Mr. Bartholomew".

"Maybe you'll get a room arrangement like Annabeth, Thalia and I" Piper said

"About that" said Ariadne, her cheeriness dampening just a little "Mrs. Knight said that I'd have to move into another room. I'm to have a new roommate".

Ivy looked like she was The Wicked Witch of the West, and Dorothy's house had just fallen on top of her. Crushed.
"I'm so sorry Ariadne"

"It doesn't matter," replied Ariadne "We'll still see each other everyday".

"Can I come and sit in your room while you pack?" She asked after a short pause.

Ivy nodded "Sure"
Then she grabbed Scarlet who was glaring at passing students, and we all walked to Scarlet and Ivy's room.

We had only been  in room 13 for about ten minutes. Scarlet and Ivy were unpacking their bags, and the rest of us were talking with them.
A tall Indian girl stuck her head into the door.

"Hello" she said

"Hi" said Ivy
"Hello" said Ariadne.

I noticed Scarlet was glaring at the girl. She stopped after Ivy and Ariadne had greeted her. She looked sort of confused at first, but realisation soon replaced it.

The Indian girl looked at Scarlet
"There really are 2 of you" she said
"Or did your reflection jump out of the mirror Ivy?"
Ivy grinned "That's definitely what happened".

"Haha" she said.
She glanced at Annabeth, Thalia, Piper, Reyna and I. "I don't think I've ever seen any of you before?".

"They're new." explained Ivy. "Transfer students."

We nodded, and introduced ourselves.

"I'm Nadia Sayani." the girl said "I came to tell you guys that Mr. Bartholomew called an assembly before dinner. We have to go down there right now".

"What for?" Asked Piper.

Nadia shrugged

"Maybe he's giving out Prizes!" Said Ariadne.

"Or canings" added Scarlet
