Chapter 3

Another day in that hellhole called a school I know its just my second day but I already hate it.

School in Nigeria was way better than the suffering I go through here. I stood from my bed lazily and went to the bathroom to do my stuff, once I was done dressing I tied my hair up, the hair self I don't know what to do with it, it is just too much.

" you guys should eat fast I'm in the car " my mum said grabbing her purse and leaving the house.

I sat in the passenger's seat while Bobo and Chika sat at the back. I hope today will be better than yesterday cause I ain't ready to go through the stress of another detention.

" Ada abi you can walk to school" my mum asked me due to the heavy traffic. " yes" I said already coming out of the car.

Now I have to walk to school, I liked walking to school back in Nigeria I walked to school every day, it helps me think about the good things in my life and also the bad ones, helps me remember good memories *sigh* the good old days.

I remember when I was twelve, I was in press club in my school, it is like the coolest club in the school and it isn't very easy to get in, but me being the lucky duck I am got in. We were very few in the club and I loved it that way, so press club was in charge of the events that take place in the school.

It was Valentine's day in my school and press club was in charge - as usual - I was saying a speech about inner child stuff and that speech was long, very long. It was my turn, I was nervous, you know, before you go on stage, so when I got on stage I said the speech I had been trying to learn for days, I said it with everything in me and when it came to an end I was expecting everyone to clap and praise me but they just starred at me and I starred at them, I wanted cry but I stood my ground, they didn't clap and since that day I have never said a speech and I am not planning on doing that again.

I opened my locker taking my time to but books in my black book bag. Today seems normal not like yesterday I like this school it is big and chill, let me check around and see if I can make any friends.

The corridor isn't as crowded as I imagined. I started wandering off into a random direction looking for my first class. I stopped to look at classes and people, in one class I saw a group of cheerleaders, it's so cool here.

I stopped again to look in another class but someone must have bumped into me, I heard the sound of books hit the floor, I turned around to help the person.

"here, sorry for that " I told the boy who had already ran away.

Odd.

I finally found my class and took a seat at the farthest corner of the class.

As I waited for the bell to be rung I played candy crush on my phone, that reminds me I have to get a new phone, I'll just ask my mum.

" hi " said a female voice from beside me.

" hi " I replied as I turned to look at the girl." Oh, Reesha right, sorry about the other time I was just trying to enjoy the lecture "
Like me Reesha is also black, she has green eyes while I on the other hand have plain brown eyes.

" No its okay "she replied smiling at me, at that moment the bell rang and the teacher came running into the class, everyone settled down and the only thing that could be heard was the teacher panting.

" Okay class open your textbooks, start with chapter eight and be fast "

" And this, is the library " Reesha was showing me around the school so I wouldn't get lost.

" wow " I said gazing at the many rows of shelf.

"  there are so many books here, " I said" compared to my former school's library "

" So which school did you go to "   Reesha asked me.

" well I used to school in Nigeria but I moved here on Monday so you wouldn't know the school " Reesha just looked at me blankly, " wait, so your Nigerian "

" I guess so " I replied unsure.

" wow " she replied silently " I never thought another person from this school would be Nigerian " she said with a surprised look on her face.

" Are you Nigerian? " I asked being curious now.

" well I don't know, my dad is British and my mum is Nigerian and my parents divorced a while back and now I live with my mum, so I guess so " she said looking a little confused at what she said.

" Any ways let me introduce you to the group " she said walking deeper into the library.

" oh so there is a group " I said a little confused.

" hey guys this is Sapphire " Reesha introduced me to the group of four one girls and three boys.

" hey "

" hi "

" sup "All of them chorused.

" hi " I said with a very wide smile.

" Saph meet " Reesha said pointing in the direction of her friends.

" Shirley " said the girl with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes.

" Brendon " said the guy sitting beside Shirley.

" Jake " said a boy.

" and Justin " said the boy sitting nearest to me stretching his hand in my direction. In return I shook his hand.

Finally friends.

" So how was school today Ada " my dad asked me from were he sat in the living room.

" school was fine "I replied on my way to the stairs.

" did they give you any homework "he asked.

" yes " I said already half way up the stairs.

I drop my bag beside my desk and bring out books so I can read. It is a new school and new country the subjects they teach here are harder so I have a lot of catching up to do.

Once I was done with that I get up and turn to the window only to find out my weird neighbour is staring at me, like really staring.

Well this is awkward

"hi " I said walking up to my window.

" oh... sorry for... err... staring " he said followed by a blush.

" gee thanks... "

" Freddy " he said still blushing. Like whats up with him.

" Umm... can you like... stop blushing " I asked getting frustrated because of the way he was blushing. He didn't reply instead he just blushed more.

" oh my God " I sighed in frustration. Why is he still blushing like it is annoying.

" could you like stop " I asked very angry now.

No reply.

That's it, I slammed the window shot and closed the curtains.

I guess I have to live with people blushing like that, like what is his problem?

So annoying
