Chapter 22
" both of you should wake up ". I said into my siblings' room. Bobo got up, so I left the room.
Tokay is a normal day, but yesterday was just perfect, but ever since Richard... Rico said that thing about calm before the storm I have been thinking.
A lot.
Like this morning when I woke up with an awful pain in my neck I totally freaked out.
What if today is the last day in my life. I shuddered at the thought. God forbid.
I walked into my bathroom and grabbed my tooth brush. Brushing my teeth lazily.
After my bath I put on a black skirt and plane blue t-shirt, then I put my sweater in my bag.
Just in case.
I put on my glasses and picked up my books from my desk and put them in my bag before grabbing my phone in my hand.
" daddy good morning " I greeted as I peeked into the sitting room were he was sitting watching a boxing match.
It's like that's the only thing he watches except some Nigerian Igbo movies.
I walk out the front door and look at the grey clouds in the sky. They sure don't look happy today.
I started my walk to school down the side walk without Summer, it seems she is going to be late today, and I would also be late if I don't hurry up.
I hastened my steps down the side walk, until I reached school. I walked to my locker and opened it.
I smiled a little, seeing it was in order, then I remembered tomorrow is the last day of school.
The thought only made me even more happy as I grabbed my books and walked towards homeroom on a jolly mood.
Today isn't that bad, Richard... Rico only said that to scare me.
I really don't know why I keep calling him Richard.

Lunch break came soon enough, and then it started raining.
Maybe that Rich... Rico, his name is Rico. Maybe that... Rico guy was just trying to tell me it is going to rain today, that silly guy has got me thinking crazy today.
" shit " I cussed, as the grape juice I was drinking spilled on my bright blue t-shirt.
" I'd be right back " I told Bianca, before standing from my seat, with my bag and leaving the cafeteria.
I was in the girls toilet trying to clean my shirt when all of a sudden this guy entered.
I dropped the paper towel I was holding and looked at the boy with wide eyes.
" are you lost " I breathed out. He just stared at me mirroring my expression.
" no, just be careful, watch your steps " he said and walked out of the toilet without another word.
Did that just happen? I ask myself, because that felt so unreal, he just came and was like ' just be careful, watch your steps ', what the heck is that supposed to mean.
Maybe he's some kind of guardian angel that came to warn me about something terrible that is about to happen, or maybe I almost fell because of how surprised I was, but what was he doing here in the first place.
But then Rico also told me to watch my back and warned me about the calm before a storm.
All this doesn't make any sense.
With a sigh I turned to go, but slipped on some icky stuff.
Ugh. That must have been what the guy was talking about.
This is the definition of disgusting. I stood up from the floor and checked my skirt for any stain, but there was none.
Thank goodness I wore a black skirt. I washed my hand and left the toilet, the purple stain on my shirt, very visible. I could just wear my sweater, I'm glad I brought it.
I walked down the corridor to my locker so I could take my bag. I opened the locker, took out the sweater from my bag, and slid the warm fabric over my shirt before taking my bag and locking the locker back.
I guess I should just forget about going back to the cafeteria since my next class will start in less than fifteen minutes.

The rain still hasn't stopped and school is over, I decide to wait in school until the rain calms.
When it finally calmed I began my journey to Bianca's house, because that was my initial plan for today, and I'm not going to let this rain spoil it.
As I neared Bianca's house, the rain began all over again.
Just great.
And when I thought today couldn't get worst a speeding car passed by me, and spilled dirt on me.
Ugh.
I thought the fall in the toilet was bad enough.
I pressed the doorbell to Bianca's, huge house, and almost immediately Bianca opened the door.
" Saph you made it " she squealed and stretched her arms forward so she could hug me, but took her hands back when she saw my condition.
I was soaking wet and stained with mud. Very attractive, right?
" gee, what happened to you " she said squeezing up her face into a disgusted look.
" the rain happened to me " I replied.
" lets get you something else to wear " she said pulling me into her home.
We climbed up some mighty long stairs, and I almost passed out mid way.
" Bianca, have ever tried counting the steps on this stairs before " I asked, she looked at me, with a funny look on her face.
" no, why "
" because it's mighty long, don't you guys have an elevator or something gee, my legs are gonna die " I complained, she turned around and looked at me with an amused expression, but continued walking.
When we reached her room door she paused and looked at me.
" what " I asked, a bit annoyed by her expression.
" I just remembered, um... Reesha, is here " she said before opening the door.
What.
" What " I said and looked at Reesha sitting on Bianca's bed with crossed legs, as she smiled evilly at me.
