magna and carl were the last ones to wake up. they headed downstairs and walked into the
                                kitchen.

rick froze when he saw carl walk in with some random girl. "who is this!?" he asked. "this is my friend magna and she lives here now." carl said calmly as the two of them joined everyone at the table.

carol dished up breakfast and smiled when she heard carl laugh for the first time in 5 days. after everyone had finished breakfast carol cleaned up.

"i have the day off today. do you wanna go on a run with me?" rick asked his son with a smile. "can't we just read some comics or something." carl said to his dad. rick sighed but soon nodded.

after a few hours of reading comics it was time for dinner. carl and magna sat next to negan. "this is really good. thank you carol." carl said softly. carol smiled. "you're welcome honey." she said sweetly. carol was happy carl wasn't crying for once and was actually eating.

michonne helped carol clean up along with magna. ron, negan, carl and rick sat down in the living room with judith. judith soon fell asleep so negan put her to bed. "hey carl i'm going on a run tomorrow with tobin and negan." rick said to his son before standing up.

"i'm gonna head to bed alright?" rick said. carl got up and hugged his dad. "i love you dad. be safe tomorrow and come back." he said with a smile. "i love you too coral and i'm sure i'll be fine." rick replied back before walking upstairs.

magna walked into the living room and smiled at carl. "why don't you head to bed?" she suggested. carl nodded and made ron go to bed as well.

it was the next day and rick, negan and tobin had been gone for 4 hours now. the car drove through the gates finally. carl and magna rushed over to it. so did michonne, tara, doc, addy, rosita, ron, dwight, daryl, 10k, carol, enid, maggie, heath and glenn.

carl froze when he saw only negan and tobin step out. he knew what that meant and fell to the ground crying. he screamed his father's name when he saw negan and tobin carry rick's dead body out. carl kept screaming and crying.

rosita and magna quickly ran to the boy and hugged him. everyone felt terrible for carl. first simon and now his own father. they knew carl was gonna be worse this time.

"WHY HIM! IT SHOULD BE ME!" carl screamed as he cried harder. "shhh don't say that."  magna whispered softly. rosita and magna stayed on the ground with a crying carl for 20 minutes before he could even open his eyes again.

michonne was crying along with everyone else. "the kid really needs a break. especially away from that house." negan spoke up. michonne nodded in agreement. "he can stay with us." addy said with a smile.

"thank you addy." michonne said as she gave the girl a hug. "go get his stuff and we'll get him ready for the funeral." doc said before walking over to carl. rosita and magna got up. doc helped car up and looked slightly shocked when carl hugged him.

doc rubbed the boy's back. "come on kid we gotta get you ready." doc said quietly. carl just nodded and stayed close to doc as they walked. soon they arrived at the house and carl's bags were already inside.

they headed to the funeral. carl cried the most when father gabriel finished saying a few words. rosita held carl in her arms. "it'll be okay. he's with simon now." rosita whispered softly in his ear.

she passed carl to 10k and addy. they held the boy as they walked back home. carl just headed to bed and skipped dinner. 10k was about to walk into his room but stopped when he heard cries.

he walked into carl's room and shut the door. carl continued to cry into a pillow. 10k removed his shoes and socks before laying down on the bed. he wrapped an arm around carl.

carl cried into the boy's shoulder. "it's not fair 10k. both of them are dead now. i failed them." he said lowly. 10k just kissed carl's head. "they don't blame you carl. i'm sure rick is happy now that he can see your mom again."

carl soon fell asleep in 10k's arms after he cried a little more. addy slightly opened the door and smiled when she saw them asleep.
