Unknown POV

So, the little star has found herself some allies.

Hmm... this'll make things more interesting.

Never the less, I'm down for anything...

As long as it's entertaining.

A shadow slips away from the kitchen window of the former queen of monsters house. His intentions unknown to anyone other than himself, however, light will soon reign down upon them all... and he could only hope he'd still be alive to witness it when it happened.

For now, he'd bide his time and await further instruction from the beings unknown to man, but familiar to legend.

Who is he? You wish to know...

Well, that's for you to figure out dear reader.

Kye's POV

When Sans tried summoning my soul, nothing happened. Despite nothing happening, I felt the pull of his magic on my soul... so, why did nothing come out of my chest?

We stared at each other in complete shock, confusion marring our faces, before he tried again....

Same result.

Pull of magic.

No soul.

I was starting to become a bit paranoid.

How is my soul not coming out of my body? I've had many monsters check my soul in the past... so, what's wrong with me now?

Am I soulless?

No, that's impossible... soulless beings didn't have a conscious. They acted like those demons that I fought off in the mountains.

So, how come my soul refuses to show itself?

I don't feel shy or embarrassed in anyway. Normally, when a soul refuses to show itself, it's a sign that you are seriously afraid.

How-?

"Kid? You okay?"

Sans's deep voice broke me out of my inner panic. Snapping back to reality, I quickly brought up my gaze and stared deeply into Sans's eyesockets. The white eyelights staring back at me were filled to the brim with a similar emotion swimming in my own aqua-blue orbs.

Worry.

"I-I, I'm okay.... I think. Um... c-could I have a moment alone p-please?"

When all the adults in the room nodded their heads in agreement, I went back to my room for a moment. Still too shocked to speak, I walked away in complete silence.

When I got to my room, I couldn't stay still for very long... I immediately went to the bathroom and splashed my face with cool water, trying to wake myself from this weird dream.

What's wrong with me?

What happened to my soul?

And why do I feel different?

Sighing, I looked at myself in the mirror.... and that was when everything seemed to almost click into place.

Sans's POV

After the kid left the room... my mind was soon a buzz of thoughts.

How is she alive if she has no soul? A soul is the very culmination of your being... the kid even said so herself.

So, how is she alive without one?

Is someone manipulating her body and conscious much like another skeleton that I know. Not stating names yet, but you know who.

Sighing, I turned to Tori and saw that she had the same look on her face that I had.

We were all worried for the girl, despite us knowing her for such a short period of time.

"Sans... I am worried."

Came Toriel's soft reply, Paps and the kids were looking worriedly between all of us... some not quite understanding and others understanding, but not knowing what to do to help.

"I know Tori, I'm worried as well. Which is pretty weird actually, haven't even known the kid that long.. and I-"

Before I could finish my thought, a shriek came from one of the rooms in the house.

In complete panic, we all rushed to where the shriek came from... Kye's room.

Upon getting there, Toriel immediately started banging on the door.

"My child! Are you alright? What's wrong?"

Her voice became desperate when she heard no reply from within, so without thinking... I teleported into the room and saw her standing in the bathroom staring at something.

Her tan skin was a shocking pale and her aqua-blue eyes were wide with terror. She was trembling with some sort of fear, but... it was also shock.

"Kid! What's wrong? Why'd ya scream?"

What she said next threw me completely off the edge of any theory I'd ever crafted in that moment.

Kye's POV

When Sans snapped me from my momentary panic attack, I came to a conclusion that both made sense and didn't at the same time.

"Sans.....I think I died."

If a skeleton could get any whiter than what he already was, he clearly achieved that.

He was so shocked beyond belief that he couldn't even format any words. No puns. No jokes... just pure, unbridled shock.

Shaking his head, he finally managed to say something.

"N-no, that... that can't be true. How can you be dead, if you are here... we can touch you and you can interact with everyone here."

Still in disbelief, I tried to think of a better way to explain it to him.

"I think that your definition of dead isn't the same as mine."

Shaking his head, he went to the door and opened it.. letting everyone in. They were shocked, despite not being in the room with us... they clearly heard our discussion through the door.

Before anyone could say anything, Frisk came to me and hugged my waist. Something about her presence helped calm me down enough to think rationally again... so I hugged her back just as tightly.

"It's going to be okay Kye. Everything will be okay, everything will work out... and no matter what happens, we'll always be here for you."

Their words managed to make my nonexistent heart smile.

Sighing in momentary relief, I looked back up at the rest of the company we had. I was about to explain what I meant when I thought of something...

What would they think of me if I am what I think I am?

Would I still be welcome here?

Well...

Only one way to find out.
