Roman and Remus talked for another hour or so, the conversation starting serious and quickly forming more jolly and joking. Eventually, Remus ran off to find Patton and Roman was left alone, with nothing to do.

Brainstorming, Roman eventually had one idea left. Find that Ver. He got to his feet, wandering over to the edge of the Pasifis forest. The shadows were unrelenting and suddenly his desire to see the female Ver was replaced with curiosity. Roman swallowed, glancing behind him, before turning back to the shadows. He couldn't see anything inside and he could only think of all the stories he'd heard. Roman held his breath, closing his eyes and he took a step in. Instantly, the air around him was freezing and he repressed a shiver, opening his eyes.

There was just darkness. Not a single ray of light. Roman turned to face the way he'd came to see a saturated world, almost unearthly to this new place he found himself in. He heard a rustle behind him and he jumped back around, feeling hands on his chest as he did. Those hands were colder than the air around him and they pushed him out into the warm, warm sun. The sudden light blinded him for a moment but he adapted quickly, feeling almost joyful in the light. Then he snapped back to the present.

Roman scowled, quickly looking up only to lower his gaze slightly onto King Janus's' short butler, Virgilious. Koue slipped the Ver's' blindfold over his eyes and Virgilious looked Roman dead in the face.

"Excuse me," Roman said politely, "I'd like to go into the forest."

"You're not allowed."

Roman pulled back slightly. "Excuse me, I am a prince!"

Virgilious didn't smile or look alarmed at Roman's' words. He simply shrugged. "So? You're not my prince. You're just a human."

"Excuse me!" Roman gasped.

"Does, 'excuse me,' make up all of your vocabulary, princey?" Huffed the Ver.

Roman glared at him, although it had no effect. He took a silent step to the side, moving as quietly as he could, past the Ver. Virgilious grabbed his arm, yanking him away.

"Why can't I go in?" He growled angrily.

Virgilious scoffed. "Because I'd have to organise someone to babysit you because it'd be too dark for you to see."

Roman pouted. "I have good eyesight, my vision would adapt."

The butler smirked. "Not in Verloor it wouldn't! Keep outta the forest, princey, or I'll get all the Vers to shoo you off if they see you coming close to it!"

Virgilious backed off into the shadows and Koue sneered until the two were swallowed by the blackness. Roman scowled, eyes darting across the dark screen before him until he gave up with an angry sigh, walking away. Might as well talk to Logan.
